Working with RYU and the Replace Your Mortgage team has been nothing but a pleasure. They are responsive, proactive, thoughtful, and genuinely invested in helping families improve their financial literacy and long-term position.
Their partnership, educational materials, and broader network have made a world of difference for our family. We’re incredibly grateful for everything they offer and the way they empower people through education rather than pressure.
I recommend them constantly to family, close friends, and honestly just about anyone I meet. Truly grateful for the impact they’re making.

Thank you for the kind words. This is exactly why we do what we do.
Most families don't need more financial products - they need better financial education. I'm grateful we've been able to help your family, and I appreciate every referral you send our way.
Thank you for trusting us.

I am quite skeptical...
I am quite skeptical of many "opportunities" that
come my way, and believe strongly in "trust but verify." Having done so, this company is legitimate, professional and very helpful. The education is accurate, current and goes far beyond what is advertised. As a client, you are not "left alone" once
you begin to implement the process. The assistance,
sincerity and value go far beyond the investment cost.
The only way to truly own your home and realize "the
American dream" beyond all the industry marketing is
to have no debt on that home. Stop paying for two homes in order to have one. Replace Your University
is the way to accomplish that goal.

We respect the 'trust but verify approach.
What you said about not being left alone is a big deal. The Replace Your Mortgage strategy is simple in concept, but implementation is where most people need guidance. That’s where our team steps in, so you’re not guessing or trying to piece it together on your own. You have support, coaching, and guidance.
And you nailed the core idea: most people don’t realize they’re set up to pay for their home twice times (one first for the bank, then the second for you). Once you see that clearly, it changes how you think about your home.
Appreciate you taking the time to share this and for doing your due diligence the right way.
To your success!

Everyone has been great
Everyone has been great! Prompt replies and help! Now I’ve just got to put in the time to pay off the house!
Response from Replace Your UniversityApr 28, 2026
Hey Wes, we appreciate this, seriously.
And you’re exactly right… at the end of the day, the Replace Your Mortgage strategy works when you work it. The HELOC strategy gives you the tool and the math, but it’s your consistency that brings it to life.
That’s why we focus so much on support, community, and guidance along the way. It’s not just about showing you a different way to pay off your home, it’s about helping you actually follow through and see the result.
You’ve got the right mindset. Stay consistent with it, and you’ll be surprised how fast things start to move.

My overall experience so far…
Actual education of this product is amazing! 5 stars!! I’m so grateful I found it. I am in a HELOC now and I’m so glad that I did it. I still watch the eduction over again and love watching Michael’s context. Feel really grateful overall for this product!
That being said, I’ve really had some struggles on the administrative side of things with RYU. The first gentleman I spoke with just to do an introductory call was incredible, and I walked away feeling super excited about the product and ready to move forward. Then I spoke with the sales rep, and after I signed up, it was like pulling teeth to get in touch with him. He had promised me a referral bonus if I referred another person, which I did, but it was almost impossible to get in touch with him about actually getting the referral bonus. I finally had to get in touch with other people to get the bonus, and it took several months. The person who finally did help me was amazing (the gentleman in charge of the referral program). After the first 30 days that you sign up, you’re pretty much doing all of the online education, which is extensive and really great, but you only get to talk to a coach for no extra cost within that first 30 day window. It’s after you finish all the education that you usually have a lot of questions as you’re working through getting into your HELOC, but by that point, you have to start paying a subscription to be able to speak with your coach. That feels salesy to me. I just spent thousands of dollars on this product, but now I have to start paying again if I want to speak to a coach about a few questions? It would be really nice if you could at least have 1 phone call per month with a coach for the first 3 to 4 months as you’re still figuring everything out. And for the record, my coach has been great!
Also, with the friend I referred. she’s had a very difficult time getting any kind of clear communication or answers from the rep she was speaking with, and after several months, she’s kind of given up, even though she paid all the money. She has felt very discouraged on the whole process, so I’m trying to walk her through it myself. I’m pretty hesitant to refer again because if that. I truly think that if RYU just gave a little bit more access to your coach without having to pay for a few questions, and some of the communication pieces were cleaned up, it could overall be a pretty amazing experience, because again, the product/content really is awesome!
Also, this might not necessarily be on RYU specifically, but I got into the Smart HELOC that they specifically created with a bank in Michigan. The product is incredible, but just FYI, getting information from that rep at the bank has been very challenging. He’s a super nice gentleman, but he is overwhelmed with the amount of work on his plate, presumably from all the people that want to get into this amazing financial vehicle. A good problem to have ?! :-) It’s been almost 3 months now, and I’m still trying to get accurate numbers for potentially opening a second HELOC. So it’s made trying to get a rental property very difficult. I’m considering switching to a different bank. RYU, if you have any sway, can you get the Smart HELOC department some
more manpower? Thank you!

We really appreciate you taking the time to write this out. There's a lot here, and it's helpful.
First off, I'm glad you said what you did about the education and coaching. That's the foundation of everything we do at Replace Your Mortgage.
Now, on the other side of your feedback…
You're not wrong on some of the friction you experienced. Communication gaps, delays on the referral bonus, and feeling like support got harder to access after the first phase, that's not the experience we aim to deliver.
On your friend's experience, that one matters. We can have the best strategy in the world, but if communication breaks down, it kills trust. It looks like she scheduled an onboarding meeting with us, and we texted her, but we never heard back from her. If she's still open to it, have her reach out to support to her coach or support team, we'll make sure she gets taken care of.
On the referral benefit specifically, there was a period where we were rebuilding that system internally, and it created delays and confusion for some clients in getting started with that benefit. That's on us. I'm glad you eventually got taken care of, but it shouldn't have been that hard to begin with. That updated system is now up and running smoothly.
On coaching, we want to bring some clarity. Every client gets structured support upfront (onboarding strategy, bank guidance, etc.) before securing their line of credit, because that's where most of the heavy lifting happens. After those initial meetings as part of the program, ongoing 1-on-1 coaching access remains available only as part of the monthly coaching membership. (Pro tip - you can turn it on / off as you need it. Don't tell anyone we said that.)
The cost is purely to support the cost of continued, on-demand access to coaches. That said, your point is fair.
And lastly, on the Smart HELOC bank side, you're exactly right. It's a great product, and demand has been high, which has stretched some of those teams thin. We don't control their internal operations, but we are in communication with them and consistently passing along feedback like this.
Bottom line, you're doing the right things. You're in the strategy, you're implementing, and you're thinking critically along the way.
Appreciate the honest feedback. That's how we get better. Cheers to your success!

Wonderful experience working with Replace Your University
Working with Willie Olivas has been wonderful. I have called him repeatedly with questions & he always advises in a very polite manner. He doesn’t become agitated when I sometimes ask the same question over & over. My experience with RYU has been very rewarding & I will share that experience with others looking for a way to pay off their homes much faster than a conventional mortgage.
Response from Replace Your UniversityApr 23, 2026
That’s awesome to hear—thank you for sharing this.
Willie is a great example of how we believe this should be done. The Replace Your Mortgage strategy isn’t just about learning a strategy… it’s about actually understanding it, being able to ask questions, and having someone walk with you through it until it truly clicks. The fact that you felt comfortable asking the same questions more than once tells me he did his job the right way.
Most people have never been shown how their mortgage really works, so questions are expected—and honestly, they’re encouraged.
Appreciate you trusting us and being willing to share your experience. That means a lot. If anything comes up as you continue implementing, don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to help you see it all the way through.

They operated a bait and switch
They operated a bait and switch. They sold us on a program, having qualified us with our actual numbers, only to tell us that we actually can't replace our mortgage they way they initially told us once they had our money. The investment into this program is considerable and despite quickly realizing that this was not going to work for us, and gave us zero new information, they refused to refund our money. We could pay off our mortgage simply by doing extra monthly payments in the same amount of time their $6000 program would have. We own our own business and know how to treat customers. They do not.
Response from Replace Your UniversityMar 17, 2026
Hi — I understand how this situation could feel frustrating, and I want to clarify a few key points for context.
During the strategy review, it was determined that the clients’ situation did not support an immediate first-position HELOC replacing their mortgage. This does not constitute a change in the program or a “bait and switch,” but rather the application of the education to their specific financial circumstances, which is the intended and disclosed process.
Refund eligibility is outlined in the Client Expectation Agreement and requires participation in the education and strategy evaluation process. Once the program has been accessed and services like analysis and coaching have been delivered, a full refund is not applicable.
In this case, the program was delivered as outlined, including educational access and personalized analysis. While a full refund was not warranted under the agreement, we acknowledged there may have been a gap in expectations and offered a $1,500 partial refund as a goodwill gesture. That offer remains available.
We respectfully disagree with the claim that nothing was received. The education, strategy, and support were provided as agreed, and the outcome here reflects individual financial factors and lender constraints — not a change in the program itself.

7 Complaints
This company has 7 Better Business Bureau complaints regarding the company not honoring their refund policy. I've heard their introductory sales presentation, but have not used their service.
Response from Replace Your UniversityMar 17, 2026
Hi there — we appreciate you taking the time to look into the company and share your concern.
For clarity, Replace Your University does have both a Client Expectation Agreement and a defined refund policy in place. Refund eligibility is based on that agreement and requires clients to follow the outlined process — including participating in the education and completing the strategy evaluation.
Because this is an education-based program, once services have been delivered and the program has been accessed, a full refund is not available. That said, every situation is reviewed individually to ensure it’s handled in alignment with what was agreed to upfront.
We understand how complaints can raise questions, and we always encourage people to look at the full picture — including how the program works, what’s required, and the many clients who have successfully gone through the process.
If anyone has questions before getting started, our team is happy to walk through expectations in detail so there are no surprises.

Paid $6,997 in October 2025 for the…
Paid $6,997 in October 2025 for the Replace Your Mortgage course.
The entire strategy depends on securing a first-lien HELOC. My mortgage is locked at 3.12% fixed. After completing the course and running the numbers (including their suggested 12–15% PLOC alternatives), the program would have cost me substantially more in interest, not less. It is simply unsuitable for anyone with a low-rate mortgage.
I was denied by three separate banks (taxes)
Their money-back guarantee clearly states a refund (less a $300 admin fee) if you cannot obtain the required financing after following their process.
I submitted a complete refund request with all required denial letters and documentation on October 28, 2025, 20 days ago.
I have followed up multiple times and received zero response of any kind, despite their written policy claiming refunds are processed in 3–5 business days.
I was forced to file a BBB complaint today just to get any acknowledgment. The complete radio silence after taking $7,000 is unacceptable and, in my opinion, deceptive.
If your rate is already low or your financial/tax situation is anything but textbook, do not spend the money. The course is polished, but the “guarantee” and post-sale support are nonexistent.
Still waiting for my $6,697 refund three weeks later.
Update: Finally recieved a phone call and apologie with a refund for the $6,697.00
Response from Replace Your UniversityMar 2, 2026
Hi Scott,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand your frustration and appreciate the opportunity to clarify the timeline for future readers.
After receiving your refund request, our team followed our standard review process, which includes confirming lender feedback and reviewing all viable options for success. In this case, the primary reason for the bank denials involved aspects of your financial profile that required additional verification with our lending partners. These factors were not disclosed prior to enrollment; had they been, we would not have qualified you to join the RYM program.
On November 12, 2025, our Sales Manager reached out to review alternative options. While those paths were presented, we fully respect your decision not to pursue them.
Your refund was approved and processed on November 18, 2025, in the amount of $6,697, in accordance with our published refund policy (less the $300 administrative fee). This occurred prior to this review being posted.
While refunds are typically processed within a standard window, some reviews take additional time when lender denials must be validated. Our goal is always to ensure every reasonable option has been explored before finalizing a refund.
We appreciate your acknowledgment of the course content and wish you the best moving forward.
