I purchased a used washer but new dryer in July they gave me 184 same as cash with my total 1326.30. I paid 250.00 first payment I've made 3 more payments if 200.00 each and another one of 250.00 I have till 1/23/2025 to pay the balance when I went to make a Dec. Payment I asked for pay off. They said pay off is still 800.00 Am I doing my math wrong?? I figured it should be no more then 300 really it should be less then that. Idk what I'm doing yet. I have till 1/23/25 to decide. I do there's no way I'm paying 800.00 more. So now I guess I'll be back at square 1 no washer or dryer and in the first place I only needed a washer. Now I'll have neither. I'll never get anything from a cent a center again. And make sure I get the word out to anyone that will listen so they too don't scammed.

This is absolutely the worst company on the planet. I am paying well over $1000 for a $400 washing machine. It’s funny they send you reminders for the payment on a regular basis but what they don’t tell you is there a scam with the six months same as cash I called to get a payoff and they told me my balance was two and change and after those payments were made they kept taking money out of the account so I called them and told me that they were taking additional payments because I didn’t make the payoff after the six months. They did not send an email or notice about that because that would’ve interfered with him stealing an extra six payments unjustified. Stay far far far far away from this company I don’t know how they’re still in business to be honest again the very worst company ever to exist. I must make an addendum to this rating. First and foremost this company is by far the most crooked that I have ever experienced in my 58 years of living. One of the regional managers contacted me by email and said they were going to get to the bottom of what was going on with the finance for scam they run at Rent-A-Center. In short I mean after you’re done paying for the item they don’t tell you that the item has hit the end and it’s paid for so they can tack on an additional 4 to 6 payments for absolutely nothing but greed. I’m sure t There’s other companies that may do the same thing but Rent-A-Center is the one I’m dealing with. And needless to say no matter how much I complain to the store that is the culprit it seems to be the same way with upper management probably all the way to the top. You Think that with such terrible ratings they would want to clean up their act but no money and greed is far more important it’s not like they’re not making enough money on the finance part of the purchase. They just outright want to steal several hundred dollars from your bank account to pay for their family vacations and luxury automobiles and posh homes. Well I ain’t down for that. I worked hard for what I’ve earned and I don’t need a company like Stealing it from me.

October 28th 2024 rent a center Lincoln ne delivered me a sofa and love seat set. My mate sat on the couch and 5 minutes later his whole right side shoulder and arm welted up with horrible welts. Come to find out the furniture was infested with bed bugs. The furniture was picked up nothing brought to replace which was a blessing. The District Manager Ron apologized profusely admitted negligence on behalf of of rent a center. This same person now has laughed in my face offering no compensation for my my lost job, bills in shut off status and numerous expenses.

This is now the second time complaining about the SAME thing. I purchased a mattress 10 months ago . First they lied about delivery had me leave work early 3x. Finally it was delivered 5 days late . 2weeks later the same delivery drivers are pounding at my landlords door I come out and there telling me I have to make a payment . My payment was already made I wrote a review I was embarrassed and taken back. Now 9 months later I’ve made every payment on time I have 4 left to go. I’ve asked to be taken off auto pay but they never disable it so I call and tell them what time I’ll be making payment. This past Saturday I had to leave work early I had an emergency. My landlord called an hour before I told them I’d be paying and says those men were here from rent a center. Ringing the bell and pounding on the door his wife is on hospice and they nearly scared her out of bed.he sent me the ring video I’m going to be sending to corporate . I called the store and I said my payment is due today I told you I would be making it online . Why are you sending people to my home . Putting all of my business out there ? The manager “adam” gave me some crap that oh there in the neighborhood anyway . This is the LAST thing I’ll ever purchase. Ever! And I will make sure this complaint gets to the people in charge . And next payment I’ll be paying it off so I never ever have to deal with them Again terrible terrible way to act awful experience from beginning to end

I made an ACH payment to didn't go through on 08/24. I immediately went into the store and made my payment. A few weeks later I went back to the store to make my bi-weekly payment and was told that I had to pay a returned check fee, although hesitate about the fee I went ahead and paid it. My payment was due on 10/26 put I had to ask for an extension until Wednesday 10/29. Called into make a payment and was charged 157.00. Inquired why was my card charged that and was told I had to pay for the returned check in which I have already paid. I called the 1800 number online to try to get some clarification and they called the store. Instead of investigating the situation they went with the store explanation. Make it make sense

Ladies & Gentleman, if your considering going to the rent a center in Ennis, Tx. be aware! After Sonya greets you everything else will be deceitful. Perhaps this is why when she asked Patrick for his help he politely refused. Shopping at the location in Ennis was very deceiving & disappointing.

Went to rent a center to see about a ps5 disc 1tb … they’re charging almost $1,300 for $499.99 set up you get any where else … just the console 1 controller …. That’s a little insane … this is coming from someone who’s been dedicated to rent a center for years … paid for washer dryer 3 TVs … tried ps5 & this ?? Nooooooo thats not right …. Even with the $100 discount & 1 month free

This is long and I apologize! I wouldn’t want what happened to me to happen to someone thinking about purchasing anything from these people! Do not buy anything from these people! In August I got behind maybe two weeks only missing one payment. Other than that my payment history was perfect. I had a lot of things going on in my life at that time; my husband had been off work about two weeks due to dental surgery and my daughter and I were in a bad car accident on August 16. My car was totaled and physically and mentally I was in a bad place. Initially I communicated with RAC telling them what was going on and they acted like I was lying. My husband even talked to them to let them know our situation. Both of us told the manager David we WOULD pay the late payment ASAP. I told them I’d make two payments when I got paid. Nothing was good enough for them! After my husband talked to them I thought he was handling everything and he thought I was so there was a bit of communication mix up. Just know these people are relentless and they don’t care about anything other than getting money. The threats started with texts and phone calls and I honestly did not want to talk to them anymore because they don’t listen. They talk over you and accuse you of lying. On August 17 I went to urgent care due to the issues I was having from my car accident and my husband and 20 year old son were doing some side work that day. That day the manager, David, came out to my house early that morning and was beating on the door and screaming my name saying I need to talk you about your account!!! My 15-year old daughter was home alone and she was terrified, she had no idea what was going on and our front door was unlocked because she had just let our dogs in. She called me in a panic and still still not having a clue who was at our house, I told her to call 911 and I had to leave the doctor’s office to rush home. MCSD dispatch instructed her not to open the door and kept her on the line while she was waiting for the sheriff to come to the house. She had her phone on speaker and dispatch could hear everything. By the time a unit came to the home David was gone and they asked me if I wanted to press charges, that I’m nowhere near the first person to call them about these people. I declined at that time but warned I warned RAC to not come back on our property or we will call MCSD again. After all this, the manager lied and said he was not “beating down the down and demanding that you open it”. He said “I asked if you could please come to the door so we can go over and discuss your account. That he I was never there to strong arm any one that is not or have ever done business”. That is not what happened! He tried to gaslight me acting like his behavior was perfectly acceptable. WTH comes out to your house and scares your minor child early on a Saturday morning because you owe $100?!. The mob? Just know this company spends big $$$ to lobby for exclusion from being included in the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). Regardless, there are multiple lawsuits against RAC from individuals and state attorney generals because their debt collection practices are abusive. I will NEVER purchase another thing from these people! I wanted them to come get the $&@# thing but my husband talked me out of it.
