Not very responsive with payroll concerns, already bumped my emails too many times about paycheck saying "in progress" for days but to no avail. Not recommended. Timelines are not realistic, no live support, processing is very slow

Hi Faye,
I'm sorry to read this. Repeated follow-ups on a paycheck stuck in progress with no clear resolution is not acceptable, and I understand how frustrating that is.
Please reach out to me directly at [email protected] so I can look into this and make sure it gets properly resolved.

They went silent and ignored my urgent requests
Thinking about cancelling and choosing someone else!
My payments have been delayed for over 4 weeks now because Remofirst failed to process the invoices correctly...not once, but twice. It’s incredibly frustrating because the errors were simple things like misspelling my name and bank details. As a business owner and interpreter myself, I know that getting these details right is the 'one job' a payroll service has. It's truly not rocket science!
If you rely on a regular income flow, you need to trust the middleman. Unfortunately, Remofirst has proven to be unreliable. They blamed my bank at first, but after doing my own research and consultation, it was clear the rejection happened because of their mistakes on the paperwork. It’s disappointing to work for a reliable company only to have the payment flow ruined by an unprofessional platform. It's also not my responsibility needing to chase them time after time without proper replies? (they went silent for days)

No customer centricity - Payroll is inefficient
Payroll is inefficient. They don't care about customers (hired people). They request payments from the company and retain them for a month or more, directly impacting the employee's cash flow.
Their platform have several database management issues, not allowing editions. Also, it doesn't involve the correct people and you need to push payments with all the stakeholders to make it work. This is a terrible EoR option. After a year and a half of having no option than working with them, I strongly suggest not to choose them.

Have no decency
Constantly contacting me through phone on my off hours. One thing is email. Contacting through phone on odd hours - just plainly disrespectful.

Hi Indrė, thanks for sharing your feedback — and we’re really sorry that we reached out at a bad time. That’s never our intention, and we completely understand how frustrating that can be.
We’ve passed this along to our team to make sure we’re more mindful about time zones going forward. We really appreciate you letting us know and wish you all the best!

The worst SaaS company I've ever had to…
The worst SaaS company I've ever had to deal with. They keep messing up our payroll, paying out incorrect salaries, and invoicing us for incorrect amounts. It's astonishing how little they care about doing a good job.
Response from RemofirstAug 26, 2025
Hi Ivan,
We’re really sorry to read this, as it’s never the experience we want anyone to have. We tried reaching out for more details so we could look into this further, but were unable to confirm your information as a customer of RemoFirst.
Because of that, we think there may have been a mix-up with another EOR provider. We're sorry you're having a poor experience with them.
Payroll accuracy and compliance are core to what we do, and if our clients ever experience an issue with RemoFirst they’re supported directly by a dedicated account manager to resolve it quickly.
If you have an active account with us, please don’t hesitate to contact us at [email protected] so we can make sure everything is taken care of!

Untransparent pricing, unhelpful support, non-functional service
Untransparent pricing, unhelpful support, non-functional service
As others have mentioned, the pricing is very untransparent - I picked Remofirst due to their attractive price of 199€ per month after comparing multiple services; which actually turned out to be 400€ per month once the invoices started coming.
I still kept using them out of lazyness once I was onboarded, as for me the need of an Employer of Record service was a pure convenience factor to reduce my own paperwork.
A few months later I applied for parental leave through their online portal, and the portal signalled that everything was OK - but in reality it took two months of e-mails back and forth and denouncing several invalid invoices before my parental leave actually was activated; which also means that as a new parent I went without pay for a significant amount of time.
Throughout the parental leave there were multiple issues with the invoicing, where for each new person from the support or finance team reaching out the standard cycle became:
1) Rude/threatening emails
2) Unhelpful answers after being informed about local laws and practices
3) Apologizes/attempt to smooth over once they had checked with the local team and realised they were wrong
All in all, what was supposed to be a convenience turned out to be an additional source of stress and annoyance - and I am going to back to just being self-employed instead of using an Employer of Record.

Hi Simon,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. I’m sorry to hear the experience didn’t meet your expectations during an important time like parental leave.
In your unique setup, where you acted as both the client and the employee, the invoices issued during your leave covered mandatory employer contributions and our fixed platform fee. These are legally required to maintain compliant employment.
While our platform and service fees are fixed and fully transparent, total monthly costs can vary based on local employment laws and statutory requirements in each country. This is outlined at the start of every engagement and further explained during onboarding. As a step, we’ll review how we can make this clearer in our process and continue improving how we communicate cost structures upfront.
Regarding the invoicing concerns, in your case, several invoices went unpaid over multiple months, which placed both parties in a difficult position. As part of our duty to ensure compliance, we must follow up on such cases with due care to avoid legal risk or disruption to payroll and our services. We believe this context may have contributed to how our messages were perceived. That said, we take your feedback seriously and will review our communication internally to ensure our values of professionalism and kindness are consistently upheld.
EOR can be a powerful solution for simplifying employment, but it also depends on shared responsibility. In this case, several of the challenges appear to have stemmed from a breakdown in that shared responsibility, which unfortunately affected the overall experience.
We’re committed to learning from every client experience and continuing to improve the clarity and quality of our service.
Thanks again for your feedback.

Think twice before choosing Remofirst as your EOR
Our experience with Remofirst was deeply disappointing and raised serious concerns about their professionalism and internal coordination.
The onboarding process was sluggish and inefficient, but the real problems began after we signed the contract. At that point, customer support became virtually unreachable, and accountability was lacking.
The most serious issue occurred during an offboarding: Remofirst instructed us to pay several thousand USD in severance for an employee who was still within their probation period. After consulting with our legal counsel, we learned that no severance was legally required. Remofirst had simply failed to verify the employee’s probationary status. Even more troubling, after their customer support acknowledged the error and confirmed we were not liable for severance, their Finance team contacted us days later, demanding payment anyway.
The entire process was chaotic and uncoordinated. If your organization values compliance, responsiveness, and professional expertise, we strongly recommend investing in a more experienced employer of record.

Hi Ali R,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We value transparency and always strive to deliver a professional and compliant experience. We understand your frustration and appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.
In this case, the situation became complicated when the termination was carried out by your team without adhering to the local legal requirements and proper documentation.
As your Employer of Record, we are obligated to follow the applicable labor laws, even when the outcomes may not align with expectations.
It’s our responsibility to ensure all employment actions follow the law, and when this process isn’t followed, we’re still required to manage the outcome in a compliant manner. Our priority is always to ensure compliance, as it protects both your business and ours.
If you would like to discuss this further, please feel free to reach out to us directly at [email protected]. We are here to help.

We had a very frustrating experience…
We had a very frustrating experience with Remofirst. During our initial call with one of their sales representatives, they assured us that onboarding and contract setup would be completed in time to meet our candidate’s deadline — specifically, by the end of the month. We made our hiring decision based on this timeline. However, despite repeated follow-ups, Remofirst failed to deliver the employment contract on time. As a result, we couldn’t provide the candidate with a signed contract by the agreed-upon date, and he ultimately chose to remain in his current role. This failure cost us a highly qualified hire and forced us to restart the entire recruitment process, wasting significant time and resources. To make matters worse, customer support became extremely poor after we signed the contract with them — slow responses, little accountability, and no urgency. We would not recommend Remofirst to any company looking to hire international talent.
Additional note: We never handed in documents too late. They never asked for additional information. They just did not meet the timeline.
Response from RemofirstMay 10, 2025
Hi David,
Thank you for sharing your experience. We understand how disappointing it can be to lose a strong candidate, and we’re truly sorry that this situation caused frustration.
The delays occurred due to missing information and last-minute changes requested by your team during the onboarding process. As your Employer of Record, we are happy to make the changes requested but are still required to follow local compliance procedures before issuing employment documents.
These steps are crucial to ensuring legal accuracy and protecting both your business and ours.
We recognize that the outcome was not what you had hoped for, and we regret that it led to losing the candidate. Our intention was never to delay or disrupt your hiring process but to ensure that all legal obligations were met correctly.
If you’d like to discuss this further, we’re here to support you. Please feel free to reach out at [email protected].
Best regards,
Tarek
