I have been transferred to the wrong department 4 times in a row. I have now been on the telephone for over half an hour and still have not received any service. Your website is constantly "experiencing technical difficulties." I am strongly considering ending my membership with this company.

Sometimes you can tell how good a business by how they handle mistakes. Issue - traveling from west coast through Montana then into Canada for a wedding. We ordered two pieces of luggage as gifts for the couple. When we picked up 'the suitcases' there was only one piece. Mistakes happen. I phoned REI and explained the issue. They checked and verified - yes I had ordered two and yes only one was shipped -- ooops! They asked me what town we would be near as we traveled cross country and in two days we were going to be in a small Montana town. They asked where we would be staying - I gave them the name. When we showed up at the hotel - yes the suitcase was there. Rarely do you find businesses that effectively respond to customer issues - but this was sure one of them.

This is a great tent. Really impressed by the build quality but mainly the waterproof ability. If you need super light weight you might want to go with the Dash2... but it's much more expensive.

I have purchased from REI for many years. The products have ranged from laundry soap to outfitting my son and I for a self supported Grand Canyon crossing. I have purchased a kayak and a high end paddle. The prices are decent and sometimes very good with a sale. But the best part is the selection of high end equipment for so many activities, and the expertise of the sales people. I have always received great advice and fittings. Most recently I had an issue with the fit of a DryTop for kayaking. The customer service was phenomenal. And when I called back with another question, the sales associate had made detailed notes about my issues. For our family REI is an old standby!

REI is the bastion of quality, great customer experience and easy returns. I had an especially wonderful experience with REI as part of my wedding gift registry. Highly recommended for those couples who would prefer to backpack China than eat off China.

REI is one of the best outdoors stores out there and I love to visit and walk through! The only problem I have is how expensive everything is! But if you are a legit camper or backpacker then this is the place for you! So many options and great high tech gear.

Great brands and ok pricing.

I like REI, always been really good about their service. I would give it a 5 stars but had to take 1 star away for 2 reasons. First, they don't always have the products you're looking for, either in store and/or online. They charge full retail price, already have the relationships with the vendors, not sure why they would choose one model and not the other. Second is what I just said, they charge full retail, it's like Nordstroms, I like their stuff, I feel good buying and wearing it, but sometimes the price gets to me. Besides that, I really like their stores.
