I was somewhat sceptical of this procedure, however I was assured by a friend of mine that it worked and I wouldn’t be sorry. I decided to go forward with the platelets and stem cell therapy. I am so glad I did. While I’m not 100% better, I am at least 85% better which for me means I am able to workout again and go back to my job as a firefighter. I would definitely recommend this and would do it again in a heartbeat.

My PRP procedure with Dr. Joel Richnak has produced wonderful results - far beyond my best hopes! The pain and incapacitation caused by my bilateral basal osteo-arthritis has nearly vanished over the past 11 months. It is truly marvelous that I can once again open a bottle of water and play my instrument without cringing and suffering sharp and prolonged pain. I am so very glad that I decided to skip the invasive and irreversible surgical procedure that would have entailed 6 months of healing and rehabilitation. Instead, 3 days after the PRP procedure I went skiing and immediately noticed a reduction of pain in my thumbs/wrist when poling. The PRP procedure itself was not painful and I only needed one Tylenol that night. Since then I have not felt any need to take Tylenol or the 2 Aleve that I had been taking regularly before the procedure. An added bonus is that the Paleo Diet recommended by Regenexx has resulted in a loss of nearly 20 poiunds...what a deal!!!

The procedure is amazing. I had stem cell injections into 3 rotator cuff muscles and my posterior labrum in my left shoulder. I had the procedure in late April, early May. 2 days after I had the procedure, my basement started leaking and I was forced to lift 20, 10 gallon pails from my shop vac into the basement sink. I thought I had ruined what I had done, but I didn't. It kept healing. I was back to work in 9 weeks. On July 24th, a 100 pound bag of horse feed was falling and I caught it, fearing it was going to take out my knees. I ended up re-tearing my infrasponatious again, but the others were ok after checking with ultrasound. The Doctor thought if I did the PRP treatment, it should work and he was right. I had an ultrasound on November 11th and they could not find any tears. I am waiting on an MRI to check the labrum. I do have some nerve issues going on in the arm and shoulder so I'm not out of the woods yet, but I'm hopeful. The procedure is unbelievable and I would do it again. I can't say the same for the post procedure help. It's pretty much non-existent . When I mentioned I was having nerve issues, my doctor suggested I see a surgeon. I won't forget that.
