Dr. wagner of Natl. spine and pain center in tyson's corner, va. was excellent. He and his staff explained everything well and to my satisfaction. They also took time to listen to my inquiries and treated me professsionally and courteously. I would recommend to anyone! I just regret that I have been too sick for the past year to ever get back to their office for my post procedural visit/s. it's about 2 hours from my home and frankly, I've just been too physically ill to get to the lcoation. Things went well with my stem cell procedure. I have no swelling in my knee any more and am able to play volleyball again. There is some discomfort when I overwork it but nothing like it was. Definitely worth doing.

One year ago today I had a stem cell procedure on my right shoulder. Orthopedic physicians had advised me after analyzing my MRI and x-rays that my shoulder had a torn rotator cuff, severe arthritis, no cartilage and bone spurs. They recommended a total shoulder replacement. I began to look for alternative treatments immediately. Researching stem cell providers was both informative and scary. After some time I discovered the Regenexx bone marrow cell method through their website and located their affiliate, Regenerative Orthopedic Institute in Kansas City. After extensive testing including ultrasound and reviewing all prior tests, I was given the diagnosis that the condition of my shoulder was "poor". Dr. Shah didn't sugar-coat anything. He told me he couldn't predict an outcome due to the severity of my condition. (I knew it was bad, constant pain, inability to do most anything....couldn't hold an empty coffee cup with my right hand.) I was insistent that I wanted to take the risk. What did I have to lose? An outpatient procedure with no side effects! Are you kidding me? I still had the option of an artificial shoulder if the stem cell procedure didn't work. And THAT I really wanted to avoid if at all possible. I have friends with artificial joints who say they wish they could have had the choice of stem cell therapy. The three-step procedure went very well. Most of the pain was gone after the first day. ALL pain was eliminated after the third day. Three series of physical therapy treatments over this past year have been vital to my continuing healing. Today, I am a very happy girl (well, great-grandmother). My physical therapist report two months ago indicated that I had 95% mobility! And, my shoulder mobility increases almost daily. I am able do my own gardening (my favorite hobby) and housework. I'm looking forward to my 80th birthday in January when I fully expect to be at 100% pain-free mobility! Thank you, Dr. Shah and the geniuses at Regenexx!!
