Red Roof Inn creates an unecessary hardship for an essential working nurse during the pandemic.
I am a nurse seeing patients out in the community. I am also a veteran. Due to an emeregency in my family I was forced to permanently move cross country with little notice. I booked hotel rooms at Red Roof inn for the trip. I had to delay my departure and went online to cancel the reservations. Two of the reservations were able to be cancelled with no problem but when I got to this hotel and the one in Little Rock I kept gettting a popup saying their server was down. I called and sat on hold longer than I will tolerate and finally gave up because I had other things to take care of to prepare for this move. I then reached out again and voiced concerns about not being able to cancel the rooms. I contacted their corporate office and spoke to multiple people who told me they would refund the charges. The following day after they were fully aware that I didn't stay at the hotel and was unable to cancel the reservation due to their server repeatedly being down. After speaking to someone about cancelling the rooms and explaining that they need to fix their online sysem days later they charge my card anyway. They literally charged my card the day after they told me they were issuing a refund. When I contacted them about this they said I would have to wait 15 days for a refund. I told them those charges now created a financial hardship for me and why would they charge the card? I was then reaching out to their corporate customer service when I got through to the person in charge who we are not allowed to name in this forum but is named everywhere else. Accountability doesn't happen without names. sorry. He claims to be the manager over their corporate call center. When I explained the situation to him he simply dismissed me and gave me the same doubletalk and runaround. He then started literally talking over me the entire time I was speaking. Not interrupting but intentionally not listening and talking over me. I confronted him about this and explained that is was clear why they had so many customer service issues when he is conducting himself in this manner right in front of his employees. Essentially Red Roof Inn Corporate representatives knowingly created a hardship for an essential working nurse who is out in the community treating covid patients. Not only did they create a hardship but then the senior leadership of your corporate office engaged in petty powerstruggles and unprofessional conduct in his interactions with me. This is the company you are giving money to when you decide to stay at a Red Roof Inn. More to come and I will be updating this will the full names of the people involved in one week if they do not take action and address this employees conduct.
