We completely understand how important all reviews are when choosing a surgeon, both positive and negative. Doctors are not able to delete negative reviews. They can only be removed if they are in violation of our Terms of Service, or if the member that posted the review requests to remove it. We are sorry to hear your feedback about your account activity. As we previously discussed with you via email, the authenticity of reviews is incredibly important to us and all of our reviews go through a stringent moderation process. This process includes both human moderation and software verification. If a review does not pass through this process, it is not published. Your review was removed because, while going through the moderation process, it was discovered that you had created multiple accounts and submitted more than one review for the same doctor. Per our Terms of Service, we do not allow a member to open multiple accounts. This is so we can be sure that someone is not using multiple identities to manipulate the reviews and ratings for any procedure or doctor.

RealSelf is an unbiased platform where all opinions are valued. We post all reviews as long as they adhere to our Terms of Service. You can find all negative reviews in the community by clicking "Sort by > Lowest Rating." Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re happy to clarify how we classify physicians on RealSelf. Doctors’ specialties are listed on RealSelf based on their board certification, which is verified by our credentials team when the doctor applies for a profile. We only accept board certifications from the American Board of Medical Specialties and their 24 member boards. We also verify that the doctor’s medical license is active and clear of sanctions. In the US, facial plastic surgeons may be board certified by either the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ABFPRS) or the American Board of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery (ABOHNS). Either board certification recognizes a doctor who is qualified to operate on the face, head, neck and throat. To receive board certification, a facial plastic surgeon must complete five years of training focused on those areas — including surgical training and residency — and then pass exams. They also must take additional classes to keep their certification. Doctors may pursue a sub-specialty beyond that training, but any board-certified facial plastic surgeon has the same core training. Board certifications are listed on each doctor's profile, along with their education, years of experience, hospital privileges and memberships. Our goal is always to provide a safe, unbiased space for people to share their opinions about procedures and doctors. We publish all reviews, as long as they adhere to our Terms of Service, and doctors have zero influence over the content of consumer reviews (unlike some other review sites that allow businesses to hide some of the reviews they don’t like). We also have a multi-step moderation process, which includes both human moderation and software analysis, to ensure that fake or biased reviews never make it onto the site. We tried to contact you through Trustpilot so we can look into your specific concerns but we haven’t heard back. Please email us ([email protected]) so we can check on the status of your review. RealSelf gives consumers an open space to share their opinions. To guarantee an equal platform for everyone, people aren’t allowed to use multiple accounts. When we find that someone is using multiple accounts, we block those accounts and remove their content. We do this regardless of whether the content is positive or negative. We always hope for situations where a patient and doctor can resolve issues amicably, and we certainly don’t ever encourage doctors to harass patients who’ve shared their experience! We aren’t able to control how a doctor contacts their patients or chooses to resolve issues. We hope you’re able to address your concerns with your doctor.

We’re sorry to hear about your concerns. The contract you signed was set up to auto-renew after your initial contract term. This is common practice for marketing, so you don’t forfeit your ad space or lose your account benefits. This is explained in the Terms and Conditions of your contract, but we hear that you don’t feel this was adequately explained to you and we will update how we communicate this to new clients going forward. After we received your cancellation request, this was processed in line with the contract Terms and your account is now closed.
