Thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand you don’t agree with a review on our platform. However, as we conveyed to you via email, RealSelf doesn’t remove reviews simply because a doctor disagrees with what a reviewer wrote. Like many websites, upgrading your profile unlocks additional features, like a contact form and cover photo. This does not change our policy on review removal - Doctors can never pay to remove reviews from RealSelf. We only remove reviews if the reviewer requests it, or if the review violates our Terms of Service. Reviews are the patient's space to express their opinion of their results and experience. While their words may be unpleasant at times (like “unprofessional” or “terrible”), it is still their opinion. We suggest resolving any differences of opinion directly with the patient. RealSelf cannot get involved as a mediator. As a new provider on our platform, we understand that this can be frustrating, but prospective patients depend on us creating an unbiased environment to make important decisions about their medical care. This includes software verification and also analysis from a member of our moderation team. We don’t allow incentivized reviews from providers and reviews that don’t meet our moderation guidelines are not published. Sorry to hear you couldn’t find any doctors in your area. Sometimes, finding a highly rated, board-certified doctor for a specific procedure might mean traveling a bit. If you need help with your search, please let us know!

Doctors cannot remove reviews. Our goal is to create a positive and supportive community. Our moderation team enjoys interacting with our community members by leaving comments that help to encourage this type of atmosphere. You deserve to know who is advertising on every page you visit. Ads on RealSelf are marked as “Sponsored” or “Advertisement,” giving you full transparency over what ads you see. Advertisements do not influence consumer content. Advertisers can’t pay to edit or remove content, ever. The treatments featured in our emails are not selected by doctors, but rather are the most popular treatments amongst our community members. We are sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with your doctor. We welcome you to leave a review. Reviews left by patients help the star ratings to reflect the doctor's skills, and help other community members make decisions about their medical care.
