I wish I could give them 0 stars.... Thier facade of inclusion and tolerance only goes as far. If you deviate from thier nebulous rules and dogma, you become fair game for having your account deleted and your life shaken up over the whole of social media. While any talk of conservative or pro-Trump ideas are literally banned, there are also active groups (with the site owner's blessing) who's entire reason for being is to infiltrate other groups, stir up hate and angst, then run away and watch thier handiwork. This same group (called Rubberneckers) will also follow up on other social media platforms to harass and intimidate those bold enough to speak out about what happened.this happens with the owners blessing, if not full support and help. I speak from personal experience. And now the have made changes to the web site that have caused physical harm to many and they ignore or ridicule those who have been affected. There are alternative out there. Use this site with caution if you must use it at all.

I refuse to be part of a group of bigots. Ravelry used to be a place where fiber artists could get together to share their interest. Now it has become a political hotbed where they have made it known that if you don’t adhere to their extreme political views you are not welcome in their midst. Rather than becoming apolitical, they have emphasized their adherence to one narrow set of views, and not only so they not want to hear anything that goes against those views.... anyone who even thinks differently from them.... whether they express their view or not.... are simply no human and have on place in their circle. This is fiber arts, for pity’s sake? Can’t they enjoy that without becoming political nazis?? I resigned my membership. Good riddance!

Terrible company. This business needs to be sold to someone with an actual head for business. For many years I was a happy member, but I became proudly unraveled in the June 2019 purge. They had created a hostile environment for 50% of their customer base. With the recent coding changes they have continued to show their disregard for their customers. This business is just a vanity project.

For years, Ravelry was an amazing place: connecting with other crocheters/knitters/spinner etc; sharing tips, patterns, yarn finds, designers. It was the BEST of the best. Then all of a sudden the owner turned it into a place of hatred, intolerance for any views but his own all while preaching tolerance. fiber artists turned against fiber artists. It has became a microcosmic forteller of what is going on in certain US cities - if you don't agree with them 100% on anything you are the enemy and deserve to be bullied, shamed, doxed and heaven help you if they find out where you work or live. Unless you want a fight on your hands, stay away. I feel for the designers who have lost a large part of their revenue. what used to be a place of joy has turned in to hell on earth. No longer celebrating our common interests and sharing, but a place where they eat their own and gleefully spit out the bones.

I joined ravelry shortly after it started and spent plenty of money buying patterns and products from their marketplace. A little over a year ago I logged on to the site to look at patterns and saw their “news” that called anyone who supports the President of the United States a racist! I immediately sent a personal message to the man (who is now a woman) that they were making a mistake to allow politics to enter into their business and begged him to have a no politics rule rather than a no conservatives rule! (It’s specifically supposed to be a yarn crafting site!) I got zilch for a response from him. That same week, on Instagram I saw lots of talk about the social just warriors on ravelry and how they had gotten a designer kicked off that had created a pattern for a “MAGA” hat! (What happened to free speech?) So I went back to ravelry to look for some patterns and noticed that the MAGA hat pattern was gone but I could buy any number of anti-Trump patterns such as a “F... Trump” hat and a Trump voodoo doll! (You guessed it; free speech was meant only for liberals.) It is disgusting that they only allow negativity about the President. Things on ravelry had been going downhill for a few years so I hadn’t been to the site for awhile but that was the final straw! I have since taken my patterns and left. I wouldn’t recommend the ravelry site to anyone, unless you’re willing to have their agenda crammed down your throat!

Left this terrible site after they became so political. They are a bunch of intolerant bullies.

I used to love it but horrible, hateful people ruined it. No longer a knitting site, it has turned into cesspool of intolerance and rage filled rants. These people claim to be tolerant of all people but attack anyone who doesn't follow their ridiculous herd mentality. Had to walk away. I've more productive uses of my time.

Ravelry has turned out to be the rudest and most judgemental website I’ve encountered. They politicized and polarized the knitting community in a disgusting way. Continue to ask designers for alternative outlets for their products. In avoiding purchasing through Ravelry, I have found some amazing yarns and patterns as well as leaving behind former ones that refuse to diversify and use alternative outlets for their products.
