They were a great place to find patterns and info on yarn. It was also nice to be able to add to your stash and buy from other people. Last year when they made a huge decision not to include those who supported our President the entire site took a hit of their own doing. People are now finding other ways to find patterns and I have made a lot of friends in the process of those like me who walked away!!!

Ravelry has become little more than a popularity club and political cesspool. Their recent update, while desperately needed (to have gone on as long as they did with an archaic system was shameful), it has caused major issues from designers being locked out of posting to epileptic seizures. The lack of response from the devs ended it for me. Time for something new!

It is a great place to store patterns. When it was decreed that anyone who supported our elected government was automatically vile, it lost my loyalty and appreciation. I think they are bat-poop crazy.

Supposed to be knitting/crochet website but only wants/allows facist far left and left leaning opinions/chatter etc. Political opinions should not be allowed—it’s a knitting/crochet/pattern website. No longer worth wasting my time on.

Ravelry used to be a good site to search for patterns until 10 yrs ago when the owner showed his true character and started banning people who didn’t agree with him. It got worse over the years and he since put out his mission statement of how he will ban anyone who doesn’t agree with his political opinions or his political leanings. If you’re not a Facisist, you’re not welcome. The owner also keeps all account’s passwords and designer’s data, so if you delete your account after taking down your patterns, he will reopen your account without your knowledge and customers have access to your patterns without your knowledge. He has allowed political groups to remain, as long as those groups are left leaning, which shouldn’t even be allowed considering it’s a Knit/Crochet Database for patterns. No other website allows such. There are far better places and websites than Ravelry.

I feel bad even giving this site one star. I had joined about 5 years ago. Enjoyed the atmosphere and esp the amount of patters I could find to spur on my quest of learning to knit. However, the owner of the site “got woke” and decided that anyone that supported the office of the President was a “white supremicist.” Well, I am against generalizations, and against excluding people for their views or beliefs. This behavior is childish. I have found other sites to fulfill my fiber needs. Crafting was something that brought together a group of diverse people. Ravelry actually unraveled that. Wtg momos...
