I was skeptical from the onset, but intrigued by Fabian's approach as it was sound in science.
So far, I've completed the 12 week program. Went down from 197 to 191 without a huge change in diet. I've been a gym/crossfit guy for many years and then pandemic hit. This has been great. Would recommend buying some larger resistance bands for legs/back.

I'm in my 24th week of Basement Beast, REAL TALK!
I'm in my 24th week of Basement Beast. Hard to put into words the positive experience I've had with the program and the Basement Beast community on Facebook. It's been life changing! Same story you hear from 1,000s of people - I was athletic when I was younger, then got married, had kids, desk job... life happened and I went from 180-200 my whole life to 230-250 for years. I used the NOOM program to get down from 245 to 195, losing a ton of muscle in the process. I found Basement Beast and continued my weight loss from 195 to 180 while adding a ton of muscle, energy and confidence. The program utilizes guided exercise with body weight and resistance bands focusing on 4 different body groups throughout the week with a yoga recovery exercise added in. The support from other Basement Beasts in the private Facebook page is inspirational. You have a ton of other guys going through the same program, supporting, helping, joking and helping each other stay motivated and grow. Fabian may at first look like your typical muscled up cocky fitness guy offering snake oil but its not who he is. He makes the program awesome as he's totally down to earth, imperfect and legitimately cares about your success and your impact on your family and community. He challenges you to be a better person to others on top of pushing you to be your best self. Honestly can't say enough good things about the Basement Beast program and Fabian Petrina. Thank you!!!!

This is a great program all the way…
This is a great program all the way around. You have Fabian who is great at guiding you through each workout, motivating you as you do them and even makes you laugh from time to time. Just having someone that shows you how to do it while motivating you to finish is a big deal for me. Easy to follow diet which has always been the hardest part of any regimen to me. Overall this has to be the best thing out on the market. Not to mention the Facebook group where you get to vent, ask for advice or just go in there for a boost of confidence. Every beast in the group is very uplifting because they are either trying to go where you have already been or are there to guide you on your journey when starting out. Love it and definitely recommend to anyone who is intimidated to start off in a gym or just need some guidance and don't have the knowledge or cash for a personal trainer. Keep pressing play!!!!!!!!!

I am a complete novice at any kind of…
I am a complete novice at any kind of workout program. Have tried the "affordable" gyms and felt lost with no guidance on what to do and how to do it properly. I would run on the treadmill for a bit then try a few machines because the free weights were so intimidating. In no time I would lose interest and stop going.
Saw ad for Basement Beast on Facebook and checked it out several times. I thought about it for a while then decided to give it a shot. On week 6 currently and have seen gains in muscle, strength has grown, and I feel this is a program I can do and implement in to my every day routine. It feels close to having a personal trainer guiding me thorough what I need to do each day. The diet is a big part of it and there is much guidance on that. The biggest thing is the group support on Facebook. It's amazing how having that group to ask questions and pick you up when you're down has made this program life changing for me.

Great workouts
Great workouts. I used to lift heavy and got out of shape. Every time I have come back to weights I manage to get sciatica like pain. With basement beast, my muscles feel like they did when I was lifting heavy.

One of the best decisions I've ever made
This program has completely changed my life for the better. I started it at 187 and finished the 12 week program at 163. I was happy with the weight I lost, but more than that I just felt amazing and healthy. I'm 40 years old and I'm on my way to being in the best physical shape of my life. I just really can’t believe how amazing this has been for me, and how well it’s worked. I’m sure different things work for different people, but I’ve tried so many different kinds of at-home workout programs and I’ve quit them all. This is the only one that I’ve stuck with. I’ve tried the P90 thing, the P90X thing. I’ve tried the Beachbody thing where you have access to hundreds of videos. I tried Noom because I had heard good things about it and even had a couple friends have luck with it. But the thing none of those programs could do is get me excited about it, and keep my attention. P90 and P90x were good, but it was the same 4 videos for 90 days. It was so damn boring doing the same thing every single day. I’ve tried to do that program 3 different times, and the farthest I’ve ever gotten with it was about 60 days. Noom was even worse. It gave me nothing to do, it just gave me information that was supposed to motivate me and change my habits…I guess that works for some people. Beachbody is probably great for certain people, too, but there’s no one to guide you through it. You just pick a workout and do it randomly. There’s no real rhyme or reason to it.
It sounds weird, but the absolute best thing about this program is the Facebook group. It’s all guys that are currently doing one of Fabians programs, and it’s amazing. I’ve never been a part of something with so much encouragement and support. Normal guys all doing the same thing and it's so motivating. My 2nd week I had a question about something, so I posted it to the group and I couldn’t believe how much support I got. Guys are always posting their progress pictures, and there’s always nothing but love and encouragement. There are guys of ALL shapes and sizes, and all ages from young 20’s to upper 70’s. There’s no shame, no judgement. It’s a completely safe place and it’s awesome. Fabian posts regularly in the group as well and does Live video chats where he answers questions. Him and his team are also completely accessible via email/Instagram/Facebook. When I’ve had a question about something, whether it was a website question, or a diet question I’ve always gotten an answer super fast. It really is like I have my own personal trainer at my fingertips. I’ve seen before and after pics from so many guys of all ages and all sizes on that Facebook page, and no matter how far they have to go or where they started from, after the 12 weeks there’s no question that this program works. I feel like I could talk for hours on this. If you're reading this review and you're on the fence about trying this program, just do it. I wish I had found it sooner.

Amazing program and support group!
Old, young, busted up or seasoned veteran at the gym this program is the answer. For years I’ve read resistance training is better on the joints. I personally had a back injury flare up in summer of 2019 and took a year to recover. With the recovery I ballooned to 280 lbs heaviest of my life. Was out of breathe climbing stairs, belt buckle always cutting into my belly, didn’t feel right in any of my clothes. Closest I’ve been to depression and one day I found Basement Beast via an ad. Bought it and took a month to jump in. Best decision I could make! Lost almost 30 lbs of fat and put on 10-15 lbs of muscle. Even starting to see abs. I’ve always been a bigger guy but dropped 5-6 inches so far off my waist, added an inch to my biceps, cut back my man boob and most of all I can walk with so much less pain. My back injury in 2019 seems like a lifetime ago because this program helped all the physical therapy needs and the group of beasts are like mental therapy. Not many days go buy without checking in with the group. Pushing play just works here. I’ve never stuck to a program more than 90 days. 37 years into life and this program I’m closing in on 300 days dedicated to the program. No sign of stopping and super proud to be part of the beast family! If you are reading this and doubt it will work for you try it you will not regret it. Last thing Fabian is like your fit friend that finally talks you into trying a good workout and makes jokes all the time. Dude is a major motivator and doesn’t shy away from the community. Can’t thank him enough for putting this program together and adding new workouts all the time!

An Absolute Must-Buy
I want to preface this by saying that I am in no way affiliated with Basement Beast (BB). This is not a paid advertisement or solicitation in any way. I'm just a regular guy looking to get in shape and want to support the program that has absolutely changed my life.
For some background, I am 28 years old and have played sports and worked out for most of my life. I've never found a program that I've stuck with long term or that really motivated me beyond getting some quick results--and I have tried many from structured strength training programs to p90x to BeachBody.
I completely fell off the wagon in the past year. I required multiple surgeries for my Crohn's Disease and struggled big time with chronic mental health issues. This culminated in a 30 pound weight gain and a complete loss of fitness, confidence, and willpower.
Scrolling through Instagram, I came upon an ad for BB. I wrote it off at first because it seemed very similar to all the other programs I've tried and quit in the past. However, I eventually decided to give it a shot. I lost my job to COVID and have piles of medical bills so money is a big issue for me, but BB offered everything it has for less than a yearly membership to Planet Fitness so I figured I didn't have much to lose. I had no idea how much I had to gain.
As far as bang-for-your-buck goes, BB cannot be beat. To break it down for you, if you buy the full package of programs they offer, you'll be getting warm-up and tutorial videos, a 20+ page nutrition guideline, calorie calculators, 48 unique "transformation" workouts which is their recommended starter program, 16 "Shred" workouts that are full body strength and cardiovascular workouts, 32 "Mass" workouts which are strength and size focused, 48 "Beast Abs" workouts which is their core-focused program, as well as 12 yoga sessions, 2 bonus ab workouts, and a bonus abs/arm workout. Honestly, I might even be missing some content here! If that's not enough, you can add in the extremely reasonably priced "Beast Nation" program which are live workouts that change weekly, every single week. I signed up for that as well. It's priced like a gym membership you pay annually and you can stop it if it's not for you while still having lifetime access to the other programs.
If that's STILL not enough content, Fabian (the founder of BB) and his team are constantly listening to your feedback and developing new programs. They have an MMA program and a dumbbell program in the works right now that I'm very excited for them to roll out. These will be priced as add-ons that I will definitely buy once I get through the already extensive number of programs available.
As far as the workouts go, prepare to WORK. You will be pushed beyond what you think you are capable of every single workout regardless of whether this is your first time working out or you're already in incredible shape. Fabian acts as your own personal trainer and guides you through each workout so that you are performing each exercise safely and effectively while motivating you to keep pushing yourself at the same time. I was skeptical that I could get a really tough workout done in 20 minutes a day, but I completely underestimated how challenging these are. Don't let that deter you though, because it WORKS. I started feeling better both mentally and physically and seeing results in just two weeks and became addicted to working out with Fabian. I actually dread the days I need to rest instead of the days I have a scheduled workout!
What truly sets BB apart from any other program you can buy is the BB team and the BB community. When you get the program, you are added to a private Facebook group where all your fellow members discuss workouts, nutrition, life, and their progress and struggles. Fabian himself is active in the group answering questions and motivating people. Him and his team will even reach out to you individually if you're struggling or losing motivation. On top of that, Fabian does weekly live Q&A sessions where he answers any questions or concerns you have.
Speaking to Fabian himself, the man is not only an expert in fitness, but is one of the most friendly, passionate, caring, empathetic, funny, and down-to-earth people around. You'll feel like he's not only your trainer, but your friend. As I mentioned earlier, he is there to support every member of the community. He isn't around to just sell you a product and then disappear. He genuinely cares about your journey and you'll feel that from day 1.
This isn't just a "get fit quick" fix for me like I thought it was going to be. It's truly a lifestyle change that I'll be in for a long haul. After being a part of the BB community and seeing the results myself and others have had, I don't think I'll ever step foot in a gym again. I've never recommended a product or program this highly.
