Absolute piece of garbage. As the others said, when it works its fine. When you get the famous "controller offline" or 'unexpected error has "occured" buckle in for standing next to the side of your house trying to get back online. Then once you do it will last about a day before the same error occurs.
Customer Service dude today said it's my WiFis fault because I have a mesh system.
This tech, app and company suck. Run don't walk...

After seeing this recommended on…
After seeing this recommended on Wirecutter, I was disapponted to discover that the AA batteries contacts on the product I received were too loose to keep the unit charged. Back it goes!

The EverDrop Flowmeter is Incompatible with the Rachio Controller!
This review is ONLY in reference to the EveryDrop Flowmeter Rachio says is compatible with their controller. Several years ago, Rachio sold a flowmeter under its own brand, and that product was exceptional! Strangely, EveryDrop made that flowmeter, but the current edition is flawed. When my Rachio flowmeter failed (after 8 years), I bought the EveryDrop flowmeter to replace it. The first problem I encountered was that the EverDrop was 6" longer, so I had to hire a plumber to fix my configuration so that the new meter would fit in my system ($250). Then, when it came to the install, the instructions were terrible! It took three rounds with a Rachio tech to get the install right. But even then, the meter did not work! It would calibrate fine, but whenever a zone would activate, I'd get a "low-flow" warning. The meter was not measuring any flow going through the zone! After two months of working with Rachio, they sent me to EveryDrop. They could not solve the issue either and simply said, "We'll give you a refund." Now I have a non-functional meter in my system doing absolutely nothing!

I would give them zero stars if…
I would give them zero stars if possible. Customer service is a joke. They never respond to anything. They will happily take your money and then try and milk more from you for simple integrations like Tempest all while never providing any support. Spend your money elsewhere and allow this company to falter like they should. They are a joke.

Disappointed. My Rachio Died After Just 2 Years
My Rachio Controller completely died going into its third year. I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m on the side of people who believe products like this should last more than a couple of years, especially at this price point.
Here’s the message I received from their support team:
"In your case, you have a light 1 issue, which is a booting error; the controller is not powering on completely, and if the steps didn't work, I'm afraid the controller is no longer functioning.
I’m checking your warranty, and regrettably, your controller is no longer covered. However, we currently have a great deal on a replacement for you. These refurbished units come with the same 2-year warranty as our new controllers and have passed rigorous quality control testing. In fact, many of these units have never been installed and are simply repackaged returns. They are currently available on Rachio.com for $150, plus tax and shipping. The regular retail price is $200."
So basically, the solution is to spend more money on a product that already failed once in less than three years.

Buyer Beware - Read Before Purchasing
This company’s weather ”intelligence” system I believe is deceiving customers when they are claiming to have 300,000 or whatever it may be weather channels connecting to each other to provide the best “weather intelligence” this is a complete lie. I live in New Jersey a more than normal place and the “weather intelligence” continues to tell me I have raining coming in the next few days when they are completely sunny thus causing the system to do a rain saturation skip. I asked the technician about this who 100% agreed , why don’t you just have it connected to the weather channel that is accurate and works for probably everyone it 10000% works anywhere I have been or checked ahead. These 300,000 networks or whatever garbage is collecting weather intelligence data is beyond terrible and now it is too late to return my system. It was recommended I turn of weather intelligence .. and then for what? For a continuous few days of rainfall to happen and then my gardening is messed up because I will manually to myself. BS . At the same time you cannot water your garden or grass twice in one day with 1 schedule it app makes you create and entire other schedule. I regret my purchase and would look into other systems. BUYERS BEWARE

My sprinkler guy recommended this and…
My sprinkler guy recommended this and you can't even set up a manual custom run that saves your time. (That's a quick run and to do that each time you have to resave the minutes per zone because there is no "save" button on that page.) The first lesson in water conservation is to NEVER run "regular" programs. Only water when you need to. So to do that I have to enter my minutes per zone EVERY time I run it. Do not buy this. Also, it said for clay soil and 8 hours of sun it needs to run 30+ minutes per zone. That is insane. I don't know where their data is coming from. We can water two days per week and even the driest grass wouldn't need more than 2 times per day at 12 minutes each.

I"inherited" this system when I purchased my home. It is the worst!! I spent a full day trying to get the thing to work initially. Best I could do was get it to work manually. Was ok with that until we lost electricity for a couple hours one day and that was it, stopped working. Won't connect to internet anymore. After spending another day trying to get it to work, the company states they are sending a new one. That could be nice except now I need to hire an electrician to install the new thing and will spend another day or more trying to get it to work. I don't want to spend money on an electrician, but I'm not going to deal with all the wires that are involved, and perhaps do damage to my home. I just want to water my lawn. Just horrible!
