I deposited $1500 to open an account. It will have been 2 weeks tomorrow - so 10 business days - and nobody is able to explain why my account shows an available balance of zero (the funds are still being held even though the required time has passed). I’m really disappointed in the financial websites that gave them good reviews. I need to access some of that money and never dreamed it would take over 2 weeks to clear.

Perfect credit and I was denied opening an account with NO explanation. Is this bank legitimate or some sort of scam?

Please do NOT use this bank, please use a trusted local bank. I have never written a bad review and I hope to help anyone to not have to go through the hell we have just been through.
We applied for a mortgage in January we have excellent credit and over half down, we needed to close by March 11th and we were assured by Tom Holsworth, Vice President at Quontic, this would be a breeze. We did our part, my husband had to continually reach out to them. It went to final underwriting March 1st, we thought we were all set. Fast forward to March 10th they were still saying it should be fine, our title company had to tell us we weren’t going to close. I then sent an email to Mr. Holsworth and was told he was going to withdraw our loan and he didn’t need the drama. Underwriting then called the President of our condo association on March 15th they told him they needed to audit their books, no one has ever heard of that. We figured out our RATE LOCK was expiring March 16th, they cleared to close March 17th with a rate increase and suddenly didn’t need the books audited, I would say that is illegal. We finally closed on March 23rd, almost lost our condo, the seller called the title company and said he was done and wanted his earnest deposit. We had 10 days of no sleep, we were going to be without a home in this market, not to mention the schedules we messed up for our contractors. Quontic Bank and Tom Holsworth you CAN do better and SHOULD do better, you can start by not giving me your automated response and holding yourselves accountable. What you are doing to people is NOT acceptable. I suggest a consultant that can coach all of you on accountability and integrity.

Be aware of bank fund transfer policies-not prominently made know
Quontic is nice when you open a money market account, but after they have your money it is very hard to do business (and this is not readily made known when you open it).
I linked a checking account from another bank and opened the account with a smaller amount than I intended to deposit. When I attempted to send more money the same way, I learned (only by calling) you are locked out of more deposits for 30 days.
When I attempted to withdraw/transfer the same way, the site keeps saying your transfer exceeds their limits, but you have to guess at the limit.
In calling the bank I learned their policy is $2,000 per day limit and only $10,000 per month. Not good if you want to use the money for a purchase like a car.
You can do a wire-but this is a $10 fee which just rubs me the wrong way-paying a fee to get my money back.
On the positive side, they are well staffed and answer the phone with knowledgeable service reps. But this is little consolation-I would prefer to have a reasonable method to 1) know the policies and 2) reasonable limits to get my money because-they had no trouble taking much larger amounts.
Finally, I have not had such trouble with other on-line institutions.
