They closed my accounts with no warning.
After multiple successful direct deposits and mobile checks deposits, they claimed one of the three checks I deposited a few days ago was fake. Not sure why. They won't say why. It was a legit payroll check. They actually accepted the other 2 checks. Same exact payroll company, same everything.
But get this. Instead of reaching out, or rejecting the deposit, they simply closed all my accounts and cutoff all access to my funds. I can't even look at my account info online. No warning.
And even after many calls back ad forward, they now understand it's not my fault and that there was no intention to defraud. Yet they are still closing my accounts and refusing to even let me look at balances, etc...
They are sending me a check (yes, really) for the balance of my accounts. Will not tell me how much.
This is absolutely insane.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.
YOU WILL REGRET IT.

Avoid at all costs! Huge regret. I was locked out of over $10k of my money for over a week.
I opened a Q (Quontic) account earlier this year (2022) only had it for a few months before I had to close it.
Their app and website are pretty bare bones. All you can really do is check your balance, recent transactions, and a couple of other minor things. Most tasks you need to do will have to be done by sending a message through a portal that is only accessible on their website.
Calling customer service doesn't really help. Most of the time, all they do is just tell you to send a message through the portal. I work in software development. I haven't seen an app or website like this since the early 2010s.
Even with all of this, I was still willing to make this my primary bank account. Until the incident happened.
It was a Saturday during labor day weekend. I was balancing my accounts and went to login to my Q account. I got my password wrong twice and was completely locked out of my account. All I got was a message that said to call customer support to access my account.
They didn't offer any kind of 2 factor authentication or an option to change my password. They also don't have any fast access options in their app. No finger print reading or option to remember your device and network. You have to manually enter your password in every time you log in. They don't even have an option to view your password after you typed it to make sure you entered it in correctly before you submit it.
I did call the number on that Saturday in hopes that maybe they did have someone but all I got was a message to leave a voicemail and have someone call me back. I left the message.
No one called me back. No calls on Tuesday. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. I'm sure they were busy. Nothing on Wednesday or Thursday.
At this point I'm done. I'm now ready to close my Q account. I can't risk being locked out of my primary bank account just because I got 1 character wrong in my password.
This is when the real nightmare begins.
I call Q and ask for my account to be closed. Of course all the rep does is just tell my to submit a message through the website and gave me incorrect information. The rep said I HAVE to add 2 attachments to the message, but their system only allows 1 attachment per message. I submitted the message to have my account closed.
On September 15th I receive an email saying my Q account is closed. There was nothing in the message that said when I would get my money that was in my Q account. I called customer support and they said it would take 2 business days.
On September 22nd I still didn't have my money and because my Q account was closed, I had no way to access it.
I called Q, the rep said that they sent my money to my other bank on Sep 15th but it was bounced back to Q on the 20th.
NO ONE CONTACTED ME, NO PHONE CALL, EMAIL, TEXT MESSAGE, NOTHING!
If I hadn't called them, who knows when I would have gotten my money. Maybe $10k isn't a lot of money to Quontic but it is to me.
Of course the rep did everything in their power to take no responsibility for this issue or even try to solve it. It wasn't until I disproved all their lies that they actually were able to get me my money.
The rep said the bank account I was trying to send the money to was "no good" (their exact words) and I'd have to try to send it to a different one. This is my only other bank account. How many bank accounts is a person supposed to have?
Also, just to be able to open my Q account, I had to send them a statement from this same bank. Most of the money in my Q account came from this bank. I also sent ANOTHER statement from this same bank when closing my Q account. If this bank was good enough to take money from then it should be good enough to send it back to.
After I pointed this out, the rep changed their story and said that this is my other banks fault and I needed to contact them.
I had a feeling Q was going to try to blame my other bank. So before I called Q I called my other bank to see if they had any record of a deposit being rejected. They had no record of any deposits period.
I told this to the Q rep and they didn't believe me. Then the Q rep said I had to do a conference call with them and my other bank.
I jumped through all the hoops to create a conference call, then jumped through even more hoops to get a rep from my other bank.
Of course the rep from the other bank told the Q rep the exact same thing they told me earlier.
It was only after this that the Q rep realized that QUONTIC entered my other bank account information wrong while doing the transfer. Q had 2 statements from that bank with my bank information.
It was an honest mistake BUT I had to spend HOURS of my time on the phone to fix a mistake I didn't even make. During this whole time, Q did everything in their power to work against me instead of with me. It was only after Q ran out of lies that they finally even tried to fix the issue.
DO NOT USE THEM.

Allowed a bank account to be opened in…
Allowed a bank account to be opened in my name I did not open. Also the 2 $500 transactions from my actual accounts was great. Got it back at least and now this statement came that I have a account with them.... um

CD that was not timely closed
I set up a short term CD that was set to renew 9/28/22. As I was leaving on an extended trip, before I left I contacted them to say I did not want to renew my CD and complied with all their requirements to close the account on 9/28 and deposit the funds into another account with higher interest. Today 2 weeks later on 10/15 I check my bank and no deposit was made and funds still show in Quontic. As a result I had to call them from overseas. They acknowledged they had everything and offered no explanation as to why my money was still sitting in their bank. I have lost almost $200 in interest because the funds have not been transferred and I am still waiting for confirmation. Avoid this bank.

This so called bank sucks!!!!
Wish I could leave a zero. Without a doubt the worst bank I have ever encountered. There website sucks when it is working. There employees are uninformed and lazy. They make you jump thru ridiculous hoops to do simple things. Can't wait for my 5 year cd to mature so I can get away from this bunch of yahoos for good!!!

Nothing but problems with this bank
Nothing but problems with this bank. Online access wouldn't work, having to submit info multiple times, debit card never showed up, and then they closed my account because it had a zero balance (as if I'd trust them with money after that) and never notified me they had done so. Stay away.

Lorraine, thank you for your feedback. We are looking into this.

Withdraw Limits on Your Money! Mailed Paper 1099s—No PDFs!
When a user opens a Quontic account, the funding account isn't automatically linked; an industry standard practice which reputable online banks do by default. At this point, users are unable to transfer their money out of Quontic. After a wait period of 30 days, users are required to telephone Quontic to turn on external account capabilities. Adding external accounts should be available to users without requesting it over the phone! Once a user does add an external account, withdraws are LIMITED to $2K daily / $10K monthly. If someone had $250K in their account, it would take them over 2 years to withdraw the funds if they wanted to close the account! This behavior is a huge red flag. Online banks making it difficult to access your money is cause for avoiding this bank altogether. Quontic does state that there are no limits on withdraws if a transfer is initiated using an outside bank. But banking is based on trust and Quontic making it difficult to move your money as you see fit doesn't imbue trust.
Also, Quontic sends 1099-INT forms through the mail–there's no PDF available… in 2025! Another red flag as to how technologically behind this company is. Users can submit a request for a PDF using their contact us page, but they don't seem to respond to the requests at all. So many aspects of Quontic make it a non-starter. Bank elsewhere.

Headache Ever Since Opening
Once you go through the hassle of opening, you have to wait almost 5 weeks before depositing any significant amount of money, and then you can't get it out. You are not able to link an external account to withdraw any of it, and other banks DO NOT RECOGNIZE THEIR ROUTING NUMBER making any transfer impossible. Thank goodness I only deposited $100! I am still waiting to get it back.
UPDATE: After messaging them on their website, the $100 was immediately transferred back to me.
