After dreaming of visiting Antarctica for 22 years, it finally happened—and it was everything I hoped for and more! I always knew I would go with Quark Expeditions because they are truly the experts in polar exploration. I never considered anyone else, so to say my expectations were high is an understatement. And, still, Quark managed to exceed every single one of them! The Ocean Explorer was gorgeous, with phenomenal service and an incredibly knowledgeable staff. It was clear that the crew and expedition team were genuinely passionate about being in Antarctica—even those who had been going for years still showed such excitement and enthusiasm. That energy was contagious and made the experience even more special. Safety was clearly a top priority, from crossing the Drake Passage to every zodiac excursion. I felt completely at ease and confident in their hands, allowing me to immerse myself in the breathtaking beauty of Antarctica without a single worry. One of the most unexpected and wonderful aspects of this journey was the sense of community on board. I’ve walked away with new friends and knowledge that I’ll carry with me for a lifetime. There truly are no words to capture just how incredible this experience was. I cannot recommend Quark Expeditions enough. They made my dream a reality—and then some! My face still hurts from smiling so much!

Quark Expeditions did an amazing job. The expedition crew was first class, so efficient getting us on and off the boat. Their knowledge enhanced the voyage. The accommodations were great. Our first stop in South Georgia with a beautiful sunrise, hearing the penguin colony at Salisbury Plain from the ship, going into the zodiacs to land with hundreds of king penguins circling to check us out and landing on shore & walking amongst the penguins was magical.

Staff is very professional but many of the team didn’t seem very genuine. Rooms are very comfortable. Food is okay but would prefer quality over quantity.

For the most part the experience was very good. Exciting to see the beauty of Antarctica! The crews was very focused on safety. One very black mark was the “discussions” on wild life. We went to the discussion on birds and expected to hear about the birds we would see, their nesting and migration habits, what they eat, who their predators are, etc. I did not expect to hear fairy tales about how birds “evolved” from dinosaurs. This is totally false and I don’t appreciate being indoctrinated with your false religion.

Everyone lovely on board so courteous and willing to assist, informative. Was a trip of a lifetime. Don't know how to plan next trip nothing can compare

Crew had diverse expertise, information sessions were quite informative and fun. Whole staff was friendly, helpful, and gracious.

This is an adult only or mature children voyage. While we were on a ship, it wasn't a cruise as much as it was an Expedition. We had phenomenal weather virtually every day. We got out on the water or land twice a day for 4 days. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this trip.
