Our Quark Expedition to Antártica was spectacular. It was perfectly executed from the moment we checked into our hotel the night before the flight to Ushuaia right until we landed back in Buenos Aires. EVERY single person involved in the Expedition is a professional. Absolutely nothing is too much trouble for anybody. The weather played ball on the whole for us BUT when it didn’t there was always an exciting plan B and I dare say plans C to Z were also already discussed and contemplated. All I can say is that this was a truly slick operation and this won’t be our only adventure with them.

The guides were Outstanding. The terrain and animals we saw were Superb. The food was excellent. The Paddling excursion was Sublime. My cabin was Outanding as were the Presentations by the guides. It was the Adventure of a Lifetime.

The ship accommodations and facilities are fabulous and comfortable. The Ocean Explorer had 129 passengers for an intimate experience. When we landed there were no other cruise ships in sight so very private landing or zodiac-ing experience. The expedition team was knowledgeable and helpful as well as safety conscious. The cabins were larger than on other ships we've traveled on. Private balcony was very nice. Lots of storage in the room. The food has a lot of variety and well prepared. I would go again and highly recommend.

Honestly, this trip was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. The Arctic is just beyond words. Travelling with Quark Expeditions on the Ocean Explorer, the ship was absolutely beautiful – super comfortable but still felt like a proper adventure, not just a cruise. Every day was something new. We saw whales right next to the ship (I still can’t get over that!) and even spotted a polar bear off in the distance, which was such a special moment. But my absolute favourite part was the icebergs – the shapes, the colours, the massive booms, the way they glowed in the light… I could’ve stared at them all day. The crew and expedition team were amazing – so passionate and friendly. The daily lectures were so enjoyable to listen to and the knowledge shared during all the zodiac trips and hikes made it so much more enjoyable. I expected it to be an amazing trip but it really exceeded my expectations and I cannot recommend a trip to the Arctic enough, especially with Quark Expeditions. I cannot wait to join another expedition.

The trip leader makes all the difference and Jake was a true leader on this trip. Jake together with Erin and Melissa delivered a first-class experience. I felt that our time was maximized on land and on the Zodiacs. We stopped and explored places new to the crew as well as the guests. We explored, we learned, we experienced first hand the beauty of the Canadian Arctic and the history and culture. We had plenty of time and the whole on/off the boat was seamless (as was the Helicopter ride) It really did feel like the whole QUARK team was organized, focused and encouraged to engage with the guests and Jake led this experience quietly and professionally. This trip was truly memorable and on parr with my trip with QUARK to Antarctica in Feb/March of 2025 (Woody was the trip leader)

Our expedition was in 2012 and we were on a Russian research vessel called the Valivov. I know this is several years later, but an advertisement came across my hotmail and I thought I should write. We left Ushuaia and crossed the Drake and went past the Antarctic Circle. Saw Lemaire Channel, Wendell Sea, etc - too many places to name. One night we even camped overnight on Rongier Island. My husband and I now do travel presentations as we have travelled the world. Antarctica and Bora Bora are two places in the world that the English language does not really have words to describe them. They are past fantastic. Thank you for the wonderful trip we had with your company on our Antarctic adventure.
