Easy Way to Obtain a QDRO
To create the QDRO, the QdroDesk online system asks specific questions most of which you can answer by referring to your divorce court documents. Once you’re finished with the questions, you are given a summary of your answers for approval. If answers are incorrect, you always have the option of changing them. Upon approval of your answers, a legal document is created. All in all, a very simple process especially considering the professional document that is produced. This is also an affordable option. My sister paid a law office over $700 for a QDRO and that was almost ten years ago. I suggest that you first verify whether you actually need a QDRO. I had never heard of a QDRO until I read it in a letter I received from PSERS Retirement and believed they required one from me. After I sent it to them, they stated they needed my divorce agreement and not a QDRO. So I spent $299 for something I didn’t need.
