Phone reps promise but do not deliver. found out after 16 years of payments that my alarm was not actually being monitored called to cancel service and was
assured my equipment was under warranty but they wouldn' fix it and required a discounted purchase of a new system

23 years with this company (previously westinghouse) and I'm just fed up
The technicians are poorly trained, and take hours to fiddle around and finally admit they don't know how to fix something. Second technician broke a parking gadget in my garage, moved stuff without permission, didn't fix the problem. Third tech fixed the problem, but declared my broken gadget "fixed" and now I have to fight the company for reimbursement. Terrible service, no refund/credit for my inconvenience (five + hours total) and broken parking gadget.

nothing has gone right
The contract was the first issue...finally had one after the technician was already waiting for well over an hour.
Next, the technician didn't get the note to bring the correct equipment or cameras...contract issue?
Next, the one camera the technician had installed fell from its mounted position and the image turned to pink-tones and now doesn't record.
Next, I contacted customer service multiple time and took another day of vacation and no technician showed up.
Next, I received a notice while waiting for the technician (that didn't show up) telling me that I had been visited by a technician and the problem was resolved.
Next, I received a bill for the items that were included in the install.
I have not received the services agreed to multiple times and there seems to be multiple communication issues within this company and I would NOT recommend them to anyone.

They do not care
Used this service to have alarm installed at recommendation of real estate agent. I had to return to Virnia and alarm was installed while I was away. Was hounded by salesperson to sign off on installation even though I had not seen or been instructed on system. When I arrived back in Las Vegas and entered the house the alarm went off as it would not recognize my code. When I called the person who answered the phone was clueless. She could not get in youth with technician but agreed to have one call me. 1 1/2 hour later I get a call. Technician clueless as the type of system I have is not listed in there system. I am put on hold for 20 minutes to speak with senior technician who can not help. Finally agreed to send a technician in 4 hours. First thing he says is" let me guess you were never trained on this system." He then puts the codes in and programs the fob for me. I head back to Virginia and am hounded again by salesperson to sign off on installation. Then when I return I am called at 7:30am to take a satisfaction survey. Who calls customers at 7:30 in the morning? It took me 3 days to get conformation I would not be called for a survey again. If they spent as much time focusing on customer needs and service as getting what they want they might get satisfied customers. Also if you want to add or change a alarm code you can not do it from your phone or tablet only from a computer. Way to keep up with the mobile revolution. Do not use!!

Poor Customer Service
I have been a Protection One customer for years. Recently I replaced my patio sliding door. Company charges to reinstall alarm wireless contacts, a two minute job. This is the way they treat long loyal customers. I will be taking my business elsewhere.
BTW I have a service contract with you which is rarely used, boy did you make money on me.

Unprofessional unreliable terrible service
I am a current customer since way before Protection one bought out Knight Alarm, I have been trying to get My Service upgraded and more Secure for over a Year in a half, maybe even more believe it or not,
I have called so many times now that I have lost count, I even had spoke to the main Branch Manager several times, he acts like He Is doing Me a Favor, he is extremely Rude and unprofessional and most of all Disrespectfull and Aragent.
and even the General manager, and nothing happens, no phone calls back no appointments log and set up in the System for someone to come out to finally check out My System and satisfy My Requests.
I should just cancel My Acct, next on my list trust Me, I am so fed up at this point with Protection one. but it's like we have been with this Company so long and I like and Trust the Service tech which has worked in our home for like 10 years at least, and I don't want new holes in My House etc, so I am stuck on deciding what to do maybe hoping Protection One will wake up and finally do what Their supposed to.
An extremely frustrated long term Customer.

Very poor value
After being a long-time customer of P1, I made the decision to cancel after receiving notice of an increase in the monthly monitoring fee. The annual discount I receive on my homeowners insurance is less than one month monitoring charge. My system is antiquated, and the keypad manual is no longer available online. I'm retired and rarely travel. When I called to cancel, I'm told I have to give a 30 day notice, even though the contract had expired months ago. Then the sales pitch started. "We can upgrade your system, and lower your monitoring charge." Gee thanks, after 10 YEARS as a customer, NOW you make me the offer. No thank you. I'll enjoy keeping that $40 a month in my pocket.
