Over the past 17 or 18 years and three moves, I have used Protection 1 for security services. Up until now I have not had any problems with the service. When I called to transfer the service to my new residence, the sales person really sold me on the self install package,. I was assured that it would be very simple and easy to install. IT WAS NOT! After two months of positioning and testing the glass break units, we had to have a service technician come out because we could not get them to work. The 1st tech that was dispatched could not get the units to work either. After 3 tech visits and replacing the glass break units for motion detectors (techs recommendation), I was charged for the tech visits. I should not have to pay for tech visits since the self install package is clearly not SELF INSTALLABLE and should not be offered as an option.

No follow up or integrity with regards to customer service.

I have not been impressed with the "self-install" team. I have had to call twice to get items that were missing from my first order. Additionally, I asked to activate my account without all the items and was told that it was best to activate as one unit. Therefore, it still isn't working.

The system seems to be working well now but the installation process was extremely painful. The installer did not know what he was doing - took him 2 full days - over 12 hours to finish the installation and a sr. tech had to come out for a few hours to assist. He was not able to answer any of my questions and did not appear to know the system and product very well at all. It was a very frustrating and disappointing experience.

When I first spoke to a representative I was told I would get up to 7 sencors free I only got 3. I ask to get more and I was told I would have to pay for them. I was told the install fee wouldn't come out till after the install the fee came out 2 days before the install. The day of install the first tech I had told my wife he chould NOT install it with out me being home. When I spoke to someone they told me it's not true he should have installed my system even without me there.. the 2nd tech was super nice very helpI full. Tech was going to help get the rest of the sencors for my house but protection one isn't going to do it now.. I was told the sencors were $30 when I first talked to them and 1 day later they are $45. Might I add this was all in less then a week this all happend

It may be one of "those" situations, but my experience thus far has been very disappointing. I chose P1 because of the fact that the equipment was already in place in a home that we recently moved into. So far, it's been issue after issue and still waiting to get hopefully the final issue resolved. Good thing I only signed up for a year.........

My first issue is that I have had to call Protection 1's customer service way too many times since I have signed up for this service. The people are always nice, but never actually fix my issue. I have had a number of billing issues, signal issues with my device, and difficulty receiving the $50 referral credit that was promised. I don't know how useful the "images" captured on the motion sensor would be in the event of a true emergency either. Let's just say I am a little less than satisfied thus far. I can only hope that Protection 1 will come through in the event of a true emergency...
