My camera is no longer recording. I I received an email stating that I reached my monthly limit. No one including the sales guy and the installer stated there was a limit.bwhen I called customer service they stated all they can do is charge me more for month. I feel like this is a bait and switch.

"Activated", yet unprotected...
After getting confirmation of being active and ready for protection, my pets recently set off a false alarm. That's when I find out I'm really not on the grid and the police was not called. On the one hand, it's good the pooch set the alarm off so I could realize I really wasn't being protected. Yet, the initial peace of mind I had went straight out the window, like my possessions with my recent burglary.

Not too thrilled
I've been a customer for almost 2 weeks now and honestly I'm not that crazy with Protection 1. We have not received our account number so how am I supposed to log in to myprotectionone.com. There is a constant Orange warning on our smartphone app that has been there since the day of installation and customer service directed us to the website mentioned above. They made sure to get their money at the day of installation but so far the customer service experience is poor at best. I should have stayed with my previous company. Stay away from Protection 1 if you can. Oh yeah, if you do go with them, expect follow up calls about the service but they can't help.

No longer do we get personal service. We no longer feel valued.
We were promised local customer service when our company was bought by Protection 1. Though there is still a local service department we do not have a local office to talk to for general customer needs. In addition, when we had a malfunction in a sensor, we got a much delayed phone call from a computer from an "unknown" 800 number. Who answers calls like that? We finally did answer when they called one of the cells, but what logic is there in not identifying the caller ID from an alarm service? We were later told that we should have been given options with that call that might have connected to a human to answer questions about the sensor, but none were given. As legacy customers from the former firm, I am very disappointed at this time. I do not feel Protection1 wants us to remain customers. Also, how genuine is it to only post the 4 and 5-star reviews on your website?

Bad faith, Bad services.
My billing was put on e-mail with out my knowledge. The last paper bill I got was in July for two months service June thru July and July thru August.
Out of curiosity I signed up to see if my billing was on E-mail and it was, for July, August and September. I talked with a representative who told me my July payment was "declined", yet I show the check being cashed on July 19th. Now according to them I'm 3 months behind. Bad outfit!!

Paperless billing NOT AUTO PAY
I have been a customer since the Multi-Media days of the 80's and if I thought it would be so difficult to transfer my account again I might have not done so. I have moved from Wichita to Olathe,Ks to Bay Harbor Islands, Fla back to Wichita and never had this experience from self install, never had to do so before, could NOT get a tech to install to fighting about paperless payments sent to my email address like in the past. I DO NOT WANT PAPER BILLING NOR I DO NOT WANT AUTO PAYMENT OFF BY CREDIT CARD. I want to pay by credit card and MAYBE use different cards from month to month. I NEED A INVOICE SENT TO MY EMAIL ADDRESS LIKE IN THE PAST. NO AUTO PAY. I WANT TO MAKE MY OWN PAYMENTS.

More interested in selling than servicing
I called Protection 1 because I have a security camera systems that needed improvement. I was assured their staff could help. After several visits to my house by several different people, my camera system is no more functioning than before they came. This system was my ONLY priority when calling Protection 1. They had no problem selling me an alarm system claiming it was the only way they could service my camera system, but once the alarm was installed, I've never heard from them again. I feel extremely frustrated that they promised a service, they have yet to deliver. Will more than likely be canceling my monitored services with them because of this.

"Shady Practices" & Overnight Delivery Should Mean Exactly That!
Having dealt w/Protection1 previously, and having a semi-positive experience-- I figured adding another residence would be seamless. Man, was I wrong! I was solicited by Wayne (the sales rep in the call center that initiated the order), and I agreed to pay extra to have the "diy" systems delivered to a location in the city that I was having my systems installed. I say "systems" because I was having two (2) systems sent out to me for my duplex's security. I scheduled them (and paid additional money for them) to be delivered to me "overnight" during the time that I would be available to install them. I received an "e-mail" two (2) days later explaining that my systems would arrive after another two (2) days. I promptly contacted this company (the day I received the "e-mail) and spoke Samantha at Protection1. She acknowledged the inadequate performance that Wayne provided stating that he never initiated the delivery for overnight -- even though extra money was paid (and received by Protection1) for this to occur. She granted two (2) months of service for free for the inconvenience (which I obviously accepted) and agreed to have the system overnighted. However, she compounded the poor service by not sending both systems. The very next morning, I received only one system. After wasting the FedEx driver's time in trying to locate the other system, it was determined that the other system was in an entirely different state altogether. So, calling Protection1 again, the sales rep said that I should "decline" the package that was due to arrive two (2) days later, and I would receive a full refund -- since I would not be in the state when it was due to arrive. This was done. However, after over two (2) weeks had past and having still received no acknowledgement that they had received the returned system nor having received the refund for the purchase of the system... I had to contact Protection1 again. After speaking w/Michael there at Protection1 (after fifteen (15) days had passed ), I let Michael know that I was trying to find out about the refund for the system that I never received. Michael (a "supervisor") transferred me to Quinn. As it turns out, (per Quinn) the "FedEx tracking number" that was associated w/the system that was installed --was technically supposed to be for a the other side of the duplex. Which is very unlikely since the equipment is supposedly set up for the system that corresponds to the layout of the property itself. He notified me that the "internal" adjustments would be made so that I wouldn't have to pay for any additional fees associated w/returning equipment that was already returned (per their own warehouse). I know it sounds confusing, but it seems as if they were trying to disregard the fact that a system was returned, wait until a certain amount of time had passed to then try and bill me for equipment that I never received. Had I not contacted Protection1 in a certain amount of time, this would probably have very well been the case. The next day, I was supposed to receive a telephone call back from the account management department providing me w/the information of the refund for the system that I never received. I am still waiting on that telephone call. Who knows when I'll receive my refund.
