I’ve been using this company for over six years now and just cancelled and moved to Planned Parenthood Direct instead. I’ve been on Auto-Ship all this time. Three separate times recently I’ve received calls/texts emails stating the cards on file are declining. Each time, there has been no reason for the decline and I’ve had to call in and have them delete the payment and re-enter the same payment information for the charge to go through. Most recently when this happened, the customer service was extremely unprofessional and unhelpful.

Erica, we’re so sorry to hear this, especially after you trusted us for more than six years. 😢 Having to repeatedly update the same payment information is frustrating, and we should have made you feel more supported when you reached out for help. We truly appreciate your longtime support and will take your feedback seriously. We hope we’ll have the opportunity to earn your trust again in the future.

Just a heads up to any trans men....
So once the meds were actually in the mail, it was fine, but it was pretty clear from the process of getting prescribed that there wasn't really much (if any) thought given to the possibility that transgender patients might be accessing their service. I filled out the initial intake form, which asked for my gender, which I put down as male, thinking there would be a follow-up question about gender assigned at birth. Probably naive, in retrospect, but by the time I realized, there wasn't any way to go back and change my previous answer.
This created a bunch of issues for me, as initially I thought I was flat out being refused a prescription, but there was some consultation and then I was told that it wouldn't be an issue. None of this was helped by the fact that I had signed up for a phone appointment, and someone that I thought was the pharmacist rang me, but while I was on the phone with her, the actual pharmacist rang me for the conference call, so we were essentially playing phone tag with three different people. Once all of that got straightened out, my prescription went through, and the actual medication arrived without issue. I was assured that whatever flagged in the system had been taken care of, I signed up for auto refills, and I figured that was the end of it....
Except my auto refill started process five days ago, and I noticed today that nothing had moved with it. I contacted them by e-mail asking what was up and when I could expect to receive my refill, and I just received a phone call (which I couldn't take because I'm in a public place), then an e-mail asking me to call them. So now I have to find a more private place to make a phone call for a refill of medication that I was already prescribed. Maybe this has nothing to do with the gender snafu at the beginning of my prescription process, but I kind of doubt it. I'm also a little frustrated that if there was an issue, no one contacted me about it. I don't know what would have happened had I not gotten in touch with them.
Anyway, for most women, this shouldn't affect you, but if you're a trans man and trying to access either birth control or emergency contraception, you may be better off just going through your local Planned Parenthood or whatever and calling it a day. I really respect what PrjktRuby is doing with trying to make these things available to people who may have issues with access, but unfortunately, the experience has been really frustrating for me and resulted in having to have a lot of extremely awkward conversations about my gender history. I understand needing medical history to confirm that I can safely be prescribed any drug, but everyone seemed kind of flummoxed by it. I also have to wonder what kind of interaction I would have had had I contacted them for emergency contraception.

Being asked the same questions multiple…
Being asked the same questions multiple times while I’m trying to order emergency contraceptives is annoying. Also the option to not have immediate delivery is crazy for a prescription only medicine

I've had nothing but issues with Prjkt…
I've had nothing but issues with Prjkt Ruby. First order, USPS lost my package and delivered it to a stranger. I spent all day on the phone with Prjkt Ruby, who eventually called it into my pharmacy which made things easier for me. This was March 2024.
Today, I call to see if my autofill order could be sent to the pharmacy, like it was before. I spoke to Leslie, who wasn't the friendliest, but more concerning was that she didn't seem to understand what was going on, from my request to my order issues previously. No notes were left on my file about the issue I had with delivery, and she was stumped by the generic brand listed on my file rather than the name brand their NP prescribed.
All of this was fine until Leslie began asking medical questions. When I inquired, confused as to why she needed this information when Prjkt Ruby already had it from two months ago, she claimed I had to re-submit my medical questionnaire, pay to speak to another NP, and put in ANOTHER order entirely. I did this in MARCH of this year, 2024, almost two months to the day. She claimed I no longer had a script with Prjkt Ruby after they called it into my local pharmacy (due to their shipping issue) and had to do it all over again.
How scammy is that? I am so frustrated and disappointed in my experience. I won't be returning as a customer if I can help it.

Rebecca, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're truly sorry for the inconvenience and frustration caused by the delivery issue and your recent customer service experience. Unfortunately, the delivery error was due to USPS. While we're glad calling your prescription into the pharmacy helped initially, we apologize for the confusion about our policy regarding prescription transfers.
We want to help make this right. Please reach out to us directly at (844) 887-7829 or email [email protected] so we can assist you further and improve your experience with PRJKT RUBY. Thanks for your patience as we work to improve our processes.

Poor communication
I am set up for autorefill with PRJKT RUBY. I never get notification when a shipment is coming or when my account will get charged. Typically with other services, they send notifications for autorefills several days in advanced. I did not have enough time to update my shipping address and now cannot identify a way to change it. I love the service itself and the accessibility to contraceptive, but this experience was especially frustrating.

The ordering was fine at first but…
The ordering was fine at first but eventually they just stopped my auto refill with no notice.
There were also a few instances of false shipping emails.

I received 6 emails
I received 6 emails saying my order was shipping with 6 different order/tracking numbers. When I reached out for clarification, 2 people responded telling me the exact same thing. Doesn't seem like everyone is on the same page here.

Jennifer, thank you so much for taking the time to write a review, and I am so sorry for the miscommunication as well as the emails you received in error. We always strive for a positive patient experience, and we're sorry we did not live up to those standards. We hope we can make it up to you in the future.

Their website is barely functional
Convenient way to get birth control, but has literally the WORST website I have ever used. Barely functional on a computer, and don’t even ATTEMPT to use it on a phone or tablet, unless you enjoy being furious.
