Overall I was not thrilled with my experience for the Civil PE Live Lecture Course. While both instructors were great and very knowledgeable, I do not think the course is adequately modified for the CBT. I expected much more focus on practice problems during the lectures rather than theory or concepts, which can be self-taught through the use of the multiple books that are provided. It is very easy to fall behind since the course is very fast paced and doesn't spend much time going into specific details but I recognize that is impossible to do for every potential exam topic. I also find it completely unacceptable for the number of errors that were found in both the lecture slides and the quiz generator by not only myself but also from feedback by other course takers. Some quiz problems are also too lengthy or too difficult, and do not even use equations given to you in the NCEES manual, which is not useful in preparing for the actual exam day. I hope that PPI addresses some of these issues and places more focus on what people can expect to see come exam day, especially the NCEES Handbook. That being said, I was still able to utilize the course and its content to review exam topics and I do feel more prepared for the exam than I did at the beginning.

Course well prepared me for the PE Civil Exam, so much so that I passed on the first try running on a bad night of sleep. The course helped me focus my studying efforts and identify my weaker areas. You have to put your share of the work in, too, but the course gives you all the tools you need to achieve your studying goals. I highly recommend it to anyone preparing for the PE Civil Exam.

I am a repeat test taker and decided to give this test prep course a try to better supplement my studies and to help me focus on topics I do not have much experience in. This course far and away surpassed my expectations. The course is very well structured with an immense amount of study materials and practice questions. The instructors are very knowledgeable and are always available through the forums and email to assist in any way they can. The instructors are there to assist you in learning the test materials, but their #1 goal is to teach to pass the exam.

Writing interface must improve; instructor was struggling to write on the screen. I believe the instructor was using an application like paint to write out the problems. It was a very slow and annoying process and makes the experience unattractive.

This course relies heavily on your ability to remember the original material from college. This is merely an overview of the material, going thru this material so fast does little if you don't do additional study and practice. The live classes are not very useful since you cannot really interact other than text with the instructor which is difficult since you are talking about symbols and formulas that are not available in on keyboards. it would be better if voice interaction was available, also if the instructor had technology to allow him/her to draw accurately on screen. Instructor simply reads premade slides and powerpoints. which is useless.

The print materials were helpful. Our employee did not enjoy the live lecture series. They stated that the instructor basically just read slides and had a very monotone voice. They found it hard to follow along but felt the material provided during the lectures was worth the value.

The structure and video lessons really benefited me and kept me on task. Our professor was very helpful and knowledgeable. If there was a question anyone was stuck on her took the time to slow down and explain. The video lessons are great tips and tricks to help on the exam.

PPI is a great program to review topics not used regularly. The instructors were great and the assignments held me accountable and motivated me to study and get them done. I was in between the shift from the written exam to the computer-based exam, but I'm confident the material and concepts are the same.
