I took the PPI2Pass live lecture course to prepare for the Chemical PE Exam. I found the course covered all of the major topics of the exam well and helped get me oriented with the reference handbook so I would feel prepared on exam day. The instructor was well versed on the exam material. I would say the only thing that I did not care for was that we had to remain muted during all of our classes. I feel this made the course less engaging and interactive. Overall, I would recommend this course to someone trying to prepare for this exam.

Company has IT issues. My purchased course was different than what was provided, however material covered was generally the same between the two. Practice tests and problems were challenging, but helped identify my deficiencies. PE instructor was well versed and helpful. My account issue was fixed before the course ended but it took most of the calendar days alloted for the course.

Using 6-Months of the On-Demand Mechanical: Machine Design and Materials course, I was able to pass my PE Exam. This was the only course I used, so I can't compare it to any of the competition. I have never learned efficiently reading straight from a book, so the reading sections were valuable, but not nearly as valuable as the recorded lectures. The Question bank ("Qbank") was the real star of the program, allowing me to identify my weak subjects and focus on those, providing thorough solutions for reviewing my incorrect answers. Some MINOR quirks at the time of this review (that can all be personally managed) are the only things holding it back from a 5 star review. - I set my schedule for ~6hrs of study availability per week, 2hrs a day, 3 days a week. The system did a good job maintaining 6hrs a week, but not always 2 hours a day. For the 8hr practice exams this was naturally unavoidable, but sometimes the study sessions exceeded 2hrs of content. Setting a long recorded lecture to faster than 1x speed and skipping over the 10minute breaks usually solved this problem. - A few of the Qbank questions are too complex to be accurate representations of the PE exam. Still good practice, but It would be helpful to be able to turn these questions on/off or have a note acknowledging that this is a complex question. - The timer for the Qbank questions is set at 3min/question rather than the NCEES standard 6min/question. Reviewing practice sessions, many questions get flagged "overtime" even under 3 minutes. I just ignored these flags and ensured that my practice session was completed with an average less than 6min/question. It may not be cheap, but in my experience it was worth the investment.

I got the FE Chemical Exam review handbook, which I've found very useful so far (though only 3 chapters in). I really like the general tone and layout of the information, equations, introduction of the exam, etc. I do wish there were more practice problems (with solutions) in the book. It's not too bad using practice problems on the internet and using the handbook as a reference though. Also, book showed up kind of beat up which isn't ideal at this price!

The ease of ordering and speed of delivery

The ordering process was fine, but it would've been helpful for the first confirmation email to say "we'll email you when your order ships" since there was no estimated delivery date or indication if I would be notified when it ships.

I used PPI to study for the Civil: Structural PE exam in August of 2024. There were a lot of things I liked about using PPI, including the huge supply of practice problems, the ability to generate quizzes with custom lengths, and the ability to track my progress on answer times and knowledge areas. I also really appreciated that the PPI interface matched the NCEES one, so it felt really familiar when it came to writing the actual exam. My only criticism were that a handful of the practice problems had issues with the solutions (ie: where the text within the question didn't match the graphic provided, where values presented in the solution didn't correspond to the referenced design standards, etc.) It was nice that there was the ability to report this, but I feel like I came across more instances where I needed to report discrepancies than I would have expected. Still very happy overall: I passed the PE exam, and would recommend PPI to colleagues who take it in the future.
