From beginning to end, my experience with Poseidon was excellent. I had a very helpful facilitator who helped me with pre-trip information and documentation and answered every query and anxiety with the patience of Job. From the time the staff met me at Ushuaia, I felt I was in capable hands - the pre-embarkation day was well handled and information was clear and complete. Embarkation itself was hassle-free, the ship was perfect - small enough to facilitate both interaction and privacy without being overwhelming, comfortable with good amenities, and with staff who worked like a well-oiled machine and made our stay very pleasant indeed. The Expedition Team were AMAZING, ensuring we remained engaged during the sea days with a variety of lectures and interesting sessions on photography, wildlife, history and geology of the region, ensuring our safety during landings and excursions, helping us to truly enjoy our experience of this breathtaking part of the world. The Team Leader took advantage of the good weather to ensure we got to see and experience everything, so we felt our time maximised. The Captain and his crew did a stellar job and we felt very safe in their capable, veteran hands. So glad to have experienced Antarctica this way - it only enhanced the experience.

We took the 21 day Antarctica/South Georgia/Falklands Expedition. From the start the objective of the staff was clearly for the trip to be as good as they could make it- example, the whole order of the cruise was reversed on departure from Ushuaia because of bad weather in the Falklands, so instead of starting in the Falklands and ending up in Antarctica, we went the other way round. The local knowledge of the ship captain and Jonathan, the expedition director, meant that during the whole trip there was only 1 landing that we were unable to execute (which seems to be almost unheard of in the region.) Every day there would be 2 landings, 3 on one day, and these were carried out efficiently and safely. No waiting around to get on the zodiacs.The knowledge and enthusiasm of the various expedition crew members was amazing. We could not fault the trip in any way, and can happily say that it exceeded our expectations in all respects.

This trip was beyond incredible !!! The process and communication from booking to the end of the trip were effortless. Staff bent over backwards to meet the requests and preferences of all guests on board. I knew Antarctica would be amazing, but the staff of Poseidon made it perfect !!!

I have just good words about this cruise. * the ship is comfortable, a little old, but on the good side the cabins are big and comfortable * the food is decent, and if you are vegetarian and ask them before they will try to have something special also for you * expedition team was nice, and we got to see a lot of cool places * the open bridge policy was amazing, I got to see a lot and learn a lot of things! Overall I will go back tomorrow:)

I hadn't heard of Poseidon when I found the company while searching for trips to Antarctica, South Georgia and the Falklands. However, I was reassured by reviews I found online and I am very glad that I trusted what I read. The pre-cruise administration from Natalia was efficient and helpful. The pre-cruise hotel was beautiful with great views. Our cabin was the best we have had on any of our small boat cruises. It was, however, the expedition staff and crew who made the whole trip so wonderful. Forward planning meant that we were able to avoid storms around Falklands and South Georgia by reversing the itinerary to visit Antarctica first. This was an inspired decision as we had a calm crossing of the Drake Passage, reasonable weather at the start to excellent weather from day three. Every evening there was a recap meeting where we were fully apprised of the itinerary for the next day. Weather, winds and swell were all detailed and the decisions for the next day's landings fully explained. The captain was involved in the decisions and his extensive experience in the region helped our wonderful expedition leader, Jonathan Zaccaria, to make great decisions as to where to land. So good was the planning that we were able to make all but one landing throughout the 19 days, including every important stop planned from the wildlife point of view. This included seeing the fantastic king penguins at St Andrews Bay on South Georgia, where, only the previous week, one person we had spoken to said her cruise was unable to land anyone because of the wind and swell. The ship's staff in every area could not do enough for us. This included our cabin man, the bar and kitchen staff, and the expedition staff, who managed the numerous zodiacs so brilliantly on the landings. I could go on and on but suffice it to say that I would recommend Poseidon to anyone on this performance and we are looking at going again on another of their cruises.

I have been in Antarctic over 12 times, this is the best company and best expedition team.

The best trip I ever had, everything was just perfect!

The crew and exposition team were exceptional. There level of knowledge and experience was second to non. I highly recommend to ice camping and kayaking as they add another dimension to the experience.
