Good Quality Leather
I loved my first bag I purchased from Portland Leather Goods and have since ordered more. My bags are very high quality leather and smell heavenly!

Portland Leather Goods was founded in 2015 when Curtis Matsko began crafting leather goods in his Portland garage with a simple goal: create beautifully simple, high-quality leather bags at a price people could actually afford. What started as a one-man project has grown into a global community of leather lovers, artisans, and repeat customers who believe great design should be accessible. We specialize in simply designed leather bags and accessories, including crossbody bags, tote bags, backpacks, wallets, journals, and everyday carry essentials. Our focus is on clean lines, functional design, and real leather that looks, feels, and smells like leather should. We source our hides from the beef industry, giving materials that would otherwise go to waste a second life. Our leather is tanned in award-winning facilities that prioritize environmentally responsible practices. Because our bags are made from real leather that is not synthetically coated or painted over, natural markings such as spots, grain variation, and occasional scars are part of what makes each piece unique. We own and operate our artisan workshop, The Studio, in León, Mexico, located near two of the most respected tanneries in North America. This close partnership allows us to maintain high standards, reduce environmental impact, and build long-term relationships with the people who make our products.Today, Portland Leather Goods continues to grow through word of mouth and a loyal customer base who appreciate simple design, durable materials, and accessible pricing. Our business is built around people, from our artisans to our customer support team to the community that proudly shares their bags every day.

Received my bag and I’m sending it back. You breathe on it and it scratches! Horrible product, do not buy this!!

Ordered a metro crossbody purse for 106.80 and was very disappointed when it arrived. Purse has no lining, has no zipper or snaps to securely close, and has no pocket for phone. Upon trying the return process i would be charged 25.00 plus shipping to return. This is ridiculous! I will NEVER order from portland leather again.

I asked them to exchange my shoes on the same date as when I received them because they were so small and I could not wear them. I always buy shoes that are size 5.5, and my order shoe size is 5.5, but they were too small. I contacted their customer service the same day I received it. For me, any shoes are okay to exchange if they don't have the sizes for which I ordered shoes. I always buy shoes size 5.5, so at this time, I bought shoes size 5.5 from them, but when I received and tried them on, they were too small, and I could not wear them. I asked them to exchange the shoes, but they refused. As a Web site business, they must care for their customers extra nicely. Buying shoes is very sensitive and challenging. The customer (me) also explained the reasons for the exchange of shoes. It's not the customer's fault if the size doesn't fit. And it's unfortunate when they receive shoes that are too small. The customer wasn't asking for a refund; I was asking for shoes that fit. And it's a bit of a scam not to be able to pay and exchange. Especially a website business shouldn't be able to do this kind of scam.

I ordered the circle Crossbody in foxglove(pink). I had such high hopes for this bag and was so disappointed when I opened the package. It looks cheap and does not look or feel like real leather. The bag also looks more like a shade of purple than pink. I went to process the return but after all the return charges and shipping cost it’s not worth returning it. What a joke! If I had paid $25 for this bag I would have been ok but not worth $68. I wish I would have done more research on reviews for this company before I made my purchase. They must scrub the wedsite reviews of anything negative because all you see are 5 start reviews. Buyer beware when buy a product off this site. Crap product and a crap company!

I spent hours deciding on my first PLG purchase. I finally settled on the Almost Perfect Crossbody Tote in Cognac. The box arrived and I was so excited to open it… but when I did, my face fell, it was absolutely hideous, looked second hand, the grain was C grade at best. I would never wear that bag, even if I didn’t get a refund. This company was chasing my for my purchase in the first place with constant contact, wouldn’t pay for shipping, sent me a crap item for $150+ and now charging $15 for return shipping. Will never recommend. Absolutely disappointed.

Buyer beware. These handbags are not lined which means no pockets to hold things either. Given this, it's a poor value. My fault that I didn't note it during purchase. Now I realize their return policy is also horrible. I'm stuck with something I paid a lot of money for and am not likely to use. 100% my fault. Just warning others. On the plus side, it's nice leather and attractive.

I have spent thousands of dollars on my PLG products. I joined this site just to leave this review, because they accepted my review on their site, and then hid it. It's reaaaally clear to me that this company thinks its customers (me) are as dumb as sheep, which is both insulting and devastatingly proven by those who rally by them whenever you say anything constructively critical about them...I believe PLG can do better. I'm waiting for them to choose to do so. My own experience was with a mystery box I bought in May. The box came a duplicate of all the other mystery boxes at the time (how is it a mystery if everyone is getting the same box?), and included lavender...but my actual issue with the box was the "zipper" bag which had everything wrong with it that you can imagine. It was deeply scratched and scuffed INSIDE and out, on all sides, SUPER stained at both seams from the top to bottom of the bag, had severely tarnishing hardware, spew (improperly tanned leather has this white waxy stuff on the surface, google it), and the zipper was already so corroded that it was chunky with green gunk that it stained the bag under the zipper flap on both sides.... I was incensed, because they say it's final sale....but F that. I was not accepting something worse than C grade in my B-grade box. This was literal trash! I wrote to customer service... it took a MONTH to get it corrected!!!! A MONTH! AND! When the replacement bag arrived (which they sent me a non-rare, "available online" bag for my rare "only available in store" bag,) the box arrived SO DAMAGED that USPS had stamped it as "arrived damaged" and advised me on how to file an insurance claim. This is because their boxes are not shipping boxes, they are cheap carboard inventory boxes that can't survive the mail (which they are aware of because their own insiders group page often features snapshots of destroyed shipping boxes with a tagline like, 'Yay, my order is here!'). Customer service vanished as soon as I said that the bag inside suffered one scratch. It's just as well, I was tired of the entire ordeal at that point and just wanted it to be over. This is not the first time my orders have arrived like this. The last time I got something so damaged, customer service told me to stuff the bag to get the creases out but it didn't work. Now they won't return it because it's been too long. They effectively made me wait out the return period with this "hack." There is no place to actually share my experience, and I'm convinced that the company doesn't actually care that their deeply invested customers are experiencing these things. I was going to buy another mystery box. Now that I'm remembering how stressful the last one was (and, btw, the one I purchased before that also arrived with scratched items) I'm sitting on my hands. I think even if I was half as excited about it, I would get another duplicate box anyway, because their mystery boxes aren't actually random.
