PortatechReviews of portatech.com

I absolutely love Portatech. This is not my first time using them and it will not be the last either. Their prices are rock bottom but their service is top notch. Everything is done right the first time. No need to look anywhere else, for they are truly a one stop shop experience. Thanks Portatech once again.

Portatech makes it easy to assemble and order your own computer config at a good price. Only complaint- they could have a wider selection of motherboard options.

One of the worst experiences with an online purchase in recent memory. Before and after placing my order I took note of the estimated delivery dates, after payment was complete their website said I should expect a shipping update with a tracking number as soon as the order was shipper. (2-3 days). 2 day before my order was supposed to arrive I still had not received any shipping information. I tried to contact their support without luck. The number they have is usually voicemail even during their stated customer support hours. After many tries I managed to get a hold of someone from this company, who looked up the tracking and shipping information and sent it to me. When my order arrived I discovered a range of issues. They claim that they test the hardware before shipping. This is a lie or if they have someone doing any testing they evidently skip some of the orders. The SSD was not formatted properly, it was not recognized by the BIOS or during windows install. I had to plug in an additional HD with a bootable OS to fix the SSD issues and get an OS running on this machine. The PSU was not secured properly and was sticking out in an awkward angle, another easy fix but I would have expected something this simple to have been taken care of. The biggest issue was the GTX 960 graphics card does not work. I tried it in another machine, still not working. I put in an old 550Ti to see if it's maybe something else, no my 550 got instantly recognized. After many tries and voicemails I got on the phone with their "support" person. After explaining the situation and the trouble shooting steps I had already taken he had me running through nonsense hoops of unplugging the monitor, plugging it back in and the sorts. One would imagine that in a situation like this there would be a simple and easy process to return or exchange a defective peace of hardware. Not with these folks. They did not send any of the manufacturer warranty paperwork. If something doesn't work you have to mail it back to them, at your expense, fill out a bunch of forms that they request and wait to see if something happens. In short, they make a refund/return next to impossible. I have accepted that they sold me broken equipment and I will never see a refund or exchange.

Extremely easy to order what parts you want, and also very cheap compared to about 8 other sites I checked out. Would purchase from here again! Thanks!

Looking for a straightforward, easy way to order a monster machine for work - this is it! Good choices for motherboard, CPU, accessories, within limits. The machine I ordered months ago is perfect, and I came back for another one. Very competitive pricing, and getting a burn-in on the assembled system seals the deal. Have and will recommend to others.

I've been shopping for a new barebones computer for about three months. Porta Tech is, by far, the easiest, most intuitive website I've encountered. They made it very easy to understand compatibility issues and piece together a custom system. To be perfectly honest, I think the best part about my experience thus far has been the complete lack of B.S. Their educational material is straight to the point, and their sales tactics are virtually non-existent. I have yet to see how the final product will turn out, but so far, I'm extremely pleased.

The ordering process was very easy and thorough. I was happy that I could choose what accessories I could attach to my order if I need the other parts. The large selection of products allowed me to choose what level of processor and motherboard I wanted for a great price. I will recommend this service to all my family and friends as well as customer that come into the retail store that I work at seeking information on a reliable company to order quality computer processing items.

The best part is the available info about the difference between hardware options offered. Prices are good for custom work too I think and website is well mapped.
