I've been using PloxHost for only two days, and I've already encountered numerous issues. First, if you want to run your own modpack on the server, you need to install it locally on your computer first, and then upload it to their site using a third-party program. There’s no easy or built-in solution for custom modpacks. The support on Discord is practically non-existent. When I asked for help, the answers I got were: “I don’t know” or “It’s been happening for a while.” That’s not very reassuring. While the panel offers a few pre-installed modpacks, the selection is very limited. If you want to add your own, you're forced to use FileZilla and manually connect to their server, which can be confusing for someone who just wants to play a modded Minecraft server with a friend. If you're not familiar with server setup or FTP clients, I would not recommend this host. If you do have some experience, it’s manageable—but still frustrating. And today, on just my second day, I’m already getting a 592 Bad Gateway error. That says a lot.

Hi Sebastian, Thank you for being open about your experience we’re truly sorry your first few days with us didn’t go as smoothly as they should have. We’d like to make this right. For Custom Modpacks, you don’t need to handle the uploads alone. If you send us a support request, our team will install your modpack for you or even add it to our One-Click installer at no extra cost. That way, you and your friends can just jump in and play. Our Discord is a community space and not an official support channel, which is why replies can sometimes feel unclear. For direct help, our ticket system is always the best way and we’ll make sure you get detailed, helpful answers every time. As for 592 Bad Gateway, this usually happens when using a VPN or third-party program. If you’re still seeing it, please open a ticket and we’ll personally investigate your server right away to get it resolved. We have also added some measures in place to prevent this going forward. We know how important it is for things to “just work,” especially when you’re excited to start playing. If you’d give us the chance, we’d love to turn this into the experience you were hoping for from day one. Please reach out to us via ticket I’ll make sure your case is handled with priority. We hope we can earn back your trust and see your review updated to reflect the experience we strive to deliver for all customers.

Prices are great, service is ok, support times are ridiculous. the first time the service broke they took 9 days to fix it, now again i am unable to access panels, server, ftp, everything for 3 days and still nothing. that simply cannot happen with a service. i loved it, now, not so much.

Their support is downright horrible. It is very slow and it takes 1 week for it to even get a response! I would not recommend this. The reason is that even if the product is great, the support should be also great. Sure you can buy from them, but dont expect a great support either.

I wanted to enjoy PloxHost. They have good prices for servers that aren't comparable to many other places, however, when I was using this service to play some survival with friends, an issue occured with PloxHost towards my server which resulted in them losing a week's worth of data from my server and essentially killing the server. Again, I want to like PloxHost, but I simply cannot trust them to hold my server if things like this are happening.

It's extremely cheap hosting, and you get what you pay for. I'm guessing if I was a teenager with more time and stuck through their issues, I'd be happy with it (considering the price is 1/4 of competitors). My time is worth far more than that, so I gave up and used a different host. Here was my experience: Took 23 hours after payment for the server to be setup, e.g. a 3% downtime for the first month. When I used it there was no 1.13 support several months after it was released, meaning I could not actually use this with my well-developed world. They had 1.12 only - although they added it about a month after I tried. If I was starting a new world, wouldn't be much of an issue. The FTP server was completely not working, so no uploads/backups. Support tickets were not responding for at least an entire day. The company did contact me nearly a month after not receiving service, in response to this review - maybe to help, but more likely to ask me to improve my rating. Worst of all, they hassled TrustPilot to remove this review, claiming I did not actually receive their service, even AFTER I provided proof via invoice - claiming I was reviewing "plox-hosting" which is not even a real website! But to be fair, for the dirt-cheap $3/month that they charged me, the experience is actually better than I expected. I expect issues/hassle/friction at this price point, and they actually do have a working service at the end of the day. I don't trust the 5-star reviews, but I also don't trust the 1-star reviews. You get what you pay for - this service is probably adequate for a vast majority of players.
