The corners are not square
The corners are not square, the assembly is askew. We tried to use it despite it not fitting easily. The strain from attempting the fit caused stress cracks. Unfortunately will now need to order and pay for a second unit.

I ordered two custom hinged acrylic display cases from Pleximart to house a pair of 18th-century French antiquarian books from my collection, and the result exceeded expectations.
The process started with a simple email — I gave Peter my exact specs (exterior dimensions, 1/8" wall thickness, hinged dust-seal lid) referencing a prior order for consistency, plus notes on each book's condition. One case needed to snugly fit a 1771 Dorat volume in its original leather binding; the other needed extra interior clearance for a 1768 Voltaire volume with some wear and flaking at the corners. Peter confirmed the interior clearances and pricing before any fabrication began, which I appreciated given these are made-to-order and non-returnable — no surprises, no guesswork.
Fabrication and shipping took about three weeks (ordered July 20, delivered August 12), and both trays arrived exactly to spec: crystal-clear acrylic, clean edges, tight hinge action, and a proper dust-seal fit. The extra corner clearance I asked for on the more fragile volume was handled exactly as requested — no pressure on the worn leather, which matters a lot when housing books this age.
What really stood out: I later learned their area was hit by a tornado and Pleximart was without electricity for a week during this timeframe — yet these cases were still designed, fabricated, and shipped without missing a beat. That kind of dedication says a lot about this small business. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by that storm.
For anyone building out a collection — books, documents, or anything that needs a museum-quality display solution — Pleximart is a great find: responsive communication, honest pricing, and craftsmanship that matches the level of care collectors put into the pieces themselves. Already planning my next order.
