Just massively disappointed. I've tried contacting the company on a number of occasions and through various different methods and have just been ignored. The email on their website doesn't work either it actually bounces back as not used. I find myself in the annoying position of having to try and salvage a rusting cooking surface that isn't even 2 years old, despite being maintained exactly how PitBoss ask. I only used branded plastic pit boss tools. Have never used an abrasive cleaner. And the grill has lived under a pit boss branded weather cover in a dry garage for the vast majority of it's life. I gave them so much opportunity to respond to me and offer help, but I haven't even had a single response. I'm at a loss as to what to do next.

Biggest POS I’ve ever owned. Spent good money on this smoker and I get to use it once every other time because it has a problem and shuts off. 4 control boards later and an igniter. Still fails repeatedly. Customer service does absolutely nothing for help. Am I just supposed to have parts shipped to me my whole time during my 5 year warranty. Do all the work myself? Once that’s up I’m just SOL? At what point do they actually do something? I will never buy pit boss again or recommend it to anyone.

Review below from different forum. Contacted customer service. They advised getting blow torches or screw extracting tools to replace an obvious manufacturers defect. This company is shameful. Hey has anyone had issues with a pit boss pellet smoker? Bought an 850 under a year ago, used it a few times. Kept it under a porch with a cover. It's not igniting now. Got replacement igniter but it's been a pain trying to remove fire pot to replace it. Seems like a POS to have these issues with such little use. Used to have different smokers but getting older and wanted something a little less labor intensive.

I purchased this smoker 9 months ago. Have replaced the controller twice and heat sensor once. Customer service is horrible . . .on this night I spent 45 minutes on chat and was told to set grill to 225 and place an oven probe or thermometer in the grill when I came back to the chat 5 minutes later they had disconnected because I was gone for more than 2 minutes . . . true story!! So I call and sat on hold for well over an hour. . .48 people in the que ahead of me. after going through all of the tests and confirmation BS that I have been through on each of 4 calls now, they want to send out a new temp sensor which I replaced within the past week. I need a set temp of 185, when I set this smoker at 185, I get wild swings from 155 to 255. . . 255 for 30-45 minutes ruins my jerky cooks. DONT BUY THIS SMOKER!!! The grill is bad, the customer service is 10 x's worse!

Do not purchase a Pit Boss. The products are poorly made, prone to pitting and rust even when stored away unused. The customer service team just refuses to do anything. A complete waste of money.

⚠️ PIT BOSS USERS: CHECK YOUR PELLETS BEFORE YOU COOK. ⚠️ I’m a professional chef and BBQ specialist, and I just watched my Pit Boss PBV4PS2 nearly go up in a structural fire. The auger jammed, the fire crawled back into the hopper, and it melted the guts of the machine. The kicker? Pit Boss confirmed the fire was caused by "oversized pellets," but they were their OWN official pellets. I’ve got the video of me opening a fresh, sealed bag of Pit Boss fuel and pulling out "pellets" the size of cigars. Total QC failure. Despite admitting the fuel caused the fire, @pitbossgrills @pitbosseu have gone silent on the refund. If you’re running these, check your bags don’t risk your property over a bad batch of pellets. I have reported this fire hazard to the OPSS today. 🛑 All Ive asked for is a refund for the thing and they have blamed me in the first instance and now wont get back to me. I'm going on every social media platform I can find and going to post photos of my Pit Boss Pro a blaze.

I own a pit boss grill and have had it a year and have only cooked on it 4 times. Everytimr I try to cook on it something else breaks. I have replaced auger moter, blower motor twice and now I'm waiting for a new control panel that they keep saying its on backorder. I just want my grill fixed and I am not getting anywhere.

What a POS these grills are. Tractior Supply had them on sale last summer, and I got talked into a large one. I bought two bags of pellets then, too. What a mistake i made! I bought it for a Labor Day outing. We ended up not using it for Labor Day, as I had not assembled it. Assembled it a few weeks later, which was straight dorward. I used it several times without a problem. It sits on my back porch next to my Weber grill, which I have had for 14 years without a problem. When I went to use it for a brisket on New Years Eve, the heat “ran away” ruining my expensive brisket. The auger was running all the time. Not being able to find parts on their website, I bought a control board that I found on Ebay. Replacing the board was not bad, but the smoker wouldn’t light. The auger control failure with it running all the time had crushed and packed the auger feed so badly that it would not turn. So it sits uselessly on the porch, as a testament to my stupidity for buying Pit Boss instead of a Traeger. Don’t be stupid like me. Don’t buy a Pit Boss. Buy a Traeger instead.
