Loopholes are not cool!
Well, this is sort of like... you’ve got to be smarter than the dog to train him. I think Pinwheel has something good, but it’s not good enough. I’ve found a few flaws... 1. If you have your phone set to not allow certain apps at specific times, if the app is left open when a new time is set, you can apparently still access that app. Sort of defeats the purpose. 2. And when you’re on an app like Spotify for example, you can still access beyond Spotify. For example... click on the image and links and it will actually take you to Facebook. Two BIG loopholes and I’m disappointed. HOWEVER, I appreciate all the efforts of Pinwheel's team and know they're working on these loopholes. I'm looking forward to the improved product.

Hi Sarah, Thanks for reporting these. We work really hard to close loopholes, and avoid workarounds. And the reality is: a thousand people using something will always reveal more things than we can spot on our own. So we are always incredible grateful when someone spots a crack, and communicates it to us. Our team is already hard at work on these. I expect both to taken care of within the next few weeks. The mode-switching and apps staying open one should be fixed in just a few days. The Spotify one is a bigger issue because it's IN Spotify — in the meanwhile, we are going to communicate the risk to parents more clearly and advise not using the app in the meanwhile if your kid is prone to push boundaries and find loopholes. Thank you again for communicating this to us. We are striving for the safest possible smartphone for kids, and while we're still in this 'public beta' phase — user input like yours is incredibly valuable to getting use there faster. Please know you can always email support, or call or text them, or use the LiveChat window — we'll see your feedback faster that way, and can get to work on fixing it sooner.
