I heard about Pie Insurance over the radio ad about two years ago, but if you are a really small business owner like me, time is always running out to do any research. It was always my intentions to find a better worker's compensation rate, especially being in California, so when I stumbled on the bookmark for Pie Insurance I decided to jump in and see what happens. I'm so glad I did! The online process was seamless, fast, painless, and no need to make an appointment to see an agent. Also, the rate was reasonably affordable. It took about a couple of days from start to finish. I love it, and I wish I had switch to Pie Insurance sooner!

Worst Insurance company I have ever dealt with. Took all my info knowing I was a 24 hr. business, then call me back and said too high a risk and we dont cover 24 hr businesses. Would have been nice to know that from the start. Went through the entire underwriters process to find that out. Waste of time !!

Horrible experience! We used Pie for about a year for WC policy in our small office. Never had to communicate with them due to no incidents. However, at the end of the year, they send a notice that they will no longer cover us due to them “no longer having the appetite to cover our line of business” and also giving us notice that we will be audited. Our line of business is an office based recruitment and HR consulting company. We ended up going back to Hartford. The transition to PIe was supposed to be cost saving and it ended up costing even more after the audit. They claimed that our rate increased because we have additional members. We clearly stated that the additions were part owners. The increase from audit ended up being about another 50% which is not even consistent with the increase of payroll amount. It felt like a bait and switch. We will never work nor recommend anyone to work with Pie Insurance again.
