Terrible insurance, terrible customer service, can't get anyone to answer the phone, can't get any calls back, they make you pay 5,000-10,000$ more at the end of the year if your policy is wrong, they give no guidance on work comp insurance or how it all works, they take your money and it's a nightmare dealing with anyone to get it back. Like any insurance company....they straight up suck and scam people out of thousands with their terrible audits of people and give no justification on why you owe an additional 5,000-10,000$

Dealing with Pie is difficult because very little human interaction. No one to call to help with problems. I wanted a live agent. This is the main reason i went with another company. Also, the premium got way too expensive.

Horrible company. First they are disorganized. They first gave a quote that was a little high. Then they gave a second quote that was lower. I wanted to go with the lower quote and then they said it was unavailable--about 10 minutes after they gave the quote. So I went with the first quote. Once payment was made, getting the documents of proof of insurance was so so difficult. The original person who helped was not returning emails nor calls. I've had it for one year and definitely moving to another company. But in that year, we had one small claim--getting pieinsurance to help with the claim process took forever and it was so so so disorganized. It really felt like a scam...bait and switch. I initially went with pie insurance thinking they were cheaper. Cheaper is only good if service is good. Thumbs down down down for sure!!

I have had my medical practice work comp insurance policy with Pie. No problems during the years when the policy was in force. Then when I found a more competitive rate elsewhere, I got papered with a burdensome audit. No audits during the years with Pie; but as if they wished to punish me for leaving, the audit arrived.

It took a long time to get a policy, over a month. Also getting paperwork for my records has been difficult. And lastly setting up my account has been impossible. I really not sure if I have workmen comp insurance for my employees?

This Rating has two updates, make sure you check them out: Don't do it. Stay away from this company. Everything is fine for the year that you were paying there premiums. But then it comes time for audit, you send them your information showing them what you reported to the IRS, proving that you are actually under your estimated salary, and if they don't like that information they want to see your whole books, because I guess they don't believe what you sent them, and that you couldn't possibly be under the estimate and they might actually owe you money. And then they go and say you didn't comply with their audit. I was expecting a refund and instead they try to get another 17-1800 out of you without any explanation except for saying you didn't comply with their audit. Beware of this company. They will never give you a refund they will just try to audit you and make sure they can get more money out of you. Update: 05/14/2021, Well good news. After writing this review, David from Pie reached out to me and reviewed my case and apologized for me having to go to this extreme in writing a bad review. After looking everything over he agrees with me and is even sending me the refund I thought I was owed instead of a invoice. So when I receive my check I will let you know and probably raise my rating up. Thank you again David Campos. Final Update 05/26/2021: I received my refund check! David did what he promised and reviewed my account and got me that refund that I thought I should have gotten in the first place. I wish everything could have been handled like they did after this bad review. ( David was great.) But I guess once in a while the only way a big company knows that we are not happy and need that extra help, is to write a bad review and then they react. David helped restore my opinion as a positive experience at the end of all of this. I am just keeping the 2 stars though because of what I had to do to get this positive experience.

Their ads should say, "we could potentially save you 30%" but in truth maybe 1% actually qualify for that 30% savings. Keep shopping..

Bad customer service, very difficult to get in touch with, and when I did they were abrupt and just plain rude. Don't seem to know what the heck their doing, had very difficult time answering any of my questions.
