i feel that i am really learning the guitar neck. these lessons are structured so that you are learning with a purpose. i had to take a few weeks off, but i was able to go back and refresh my memory of what i had learned in the caged system. then i was able to get caught up. i feel like there is a route that i am taking and not just doing exercises.

Renewed my love of playing!
I am so glad i found this site! I have been playing for over 20 years and stalled out about 10 years ago, just playing the same old songs and riffs and not really progressing and this has increased my skill so much already in such a short time and i cant wait to continue learning. Great teachers and pathways. It has really re-ignited my love for playing again. Thank You!

I absolutely love pickup music I am a…
I absolutely love pickup music I am a late beginner and decided to take this course from the beginner level and learned things I skipped over before. The lessons are easy and step by step and they give great feed back at the end of each course! I highly recommend! this is the best guitar lesson I have ever taken thus far and I have taken many! I am sticking with pick up guitar until the end!

Highly recommended
I learned to play the guitar when I was a teen and went all the way to a semi-competent intermediate level in my early 20s. Back then it was enough for playing covers with friends, but as they got better I lagged behind skill-wise and couldn't really keep up. Eventually my guitar became a decorative object.
A couple years ago, after more than a decade of not touching a guitar, I decided to try to do it properly. I started trying to remember where I stopped, regaining muscle memory... and after a few months I got stuck at the exact same point I was before.
Trying to get past this, I started researching for WHAT I should learn, and trying to structure my own study plan. But it turns out that it's really hard to find this structure online, even with the abundance of content, youtube videos, etc.
Then one day I got an Instagram ad for Pickup Music and the guy on the video was talking exactly about this situation. So I thought "Alright, I'll give it a try...". And honestly this was EXACTLY what I was looking for. The structure is clear, lessons are concise and it's all super well filmed and produced. After a few months I feel like I'm finally moving past my "early intermediate" rut and playing better than I ever had.
Keep in mind Pickup has the same limitations as any online course: you do have to stick to the plan and put in the hours of practice. But as online courses go, their presentation, guidance and structure are WAY above average.

I've struggled with focus through a lot of my guitar life
I've struggled with focus through a lot of my guitar life. I tend to get bored and have a hard time sticking to tasks that I find less interesting. I've found a lot of things that Pickup Music has helped me with.
1) There's no fluff. You know things are important because they come up in multiple lessons
2) It's easy to pick back up where you left off, whether you leave for a day or a week or a month.
3) The lesson lengths are perfect. They squeeze enough important information in short periods of time that make it easy for you to do a lesson and stop or find the motivation to keep going. It helps my ADHD get that sense of accomplishment that helps me to keep going.
4) We are all different and we all learn differently, and I've seen things showed in different ways that have helped me see things I didn't before.
Overall I've really enjoyed my experience so far and plan to continue going.

PickupMusic is the clear winner between the platforms
I tried Fender player, GuitarTricks and TrueFire.
Trust me guys, there is nothing that comes even close to Pickup Music. It's so unbelievably good.
This is by far the best structured, engaging Platform I have ever seen.
Their "Learning Path" concept is the best thing I've ever seen. It achieves what the others just can't get to manage.
They also have "Late Beginner" courses, which is perfect for people that know somewhat to play guitar (which was my case, cause I went through Fender player, etc..)
Plus they seem to be the only one to Cover Neo Soul and Jazz (thank god it's them covering it) in such a detail and nuance, which was one of the biggest strong points of PickUp Music.
There is so much good stuff I can write about, but I think you get it now.
If you don't choose PickUp Music to learn guitar, I truly feel sorry for you.

Pick up Pickup Music.
My guitar playing has progressed so much since starting with Pickup Music. The structured learning keeps me motivated and there's a really personal feel thanks to both the feedback the team provides and the lively community in the comments sections. Would absolutely recommend.

Pickup Music is the best online learning platform I've ever come across for guitar. It's given me structure and has helped me escape from the sporadic, piecemeal way I was learning guitar before finding the site. I haven't even made it through the second grade of the jazz course, but it already feels like my guitar playing has grown exponentially. My only problem with the site is that I want to learn every style available, so I've been jumping around more than I should. If you can stay focused and commit a little time every day to the lessons, I think that it could be one of the best investments anyone could make for their playing.
