Pickup MusicReviews of pickupmusic.com

Pickup Music is a comprehensive resource for learning guitar. From the beginner and intermediate pathways which provide good foundational instruction to deep dive courses like CAGED or Country music, every guitarist should find something to hold their attention. I personally like the pathway structure that allows me to take several courses at once. This gives me a sort of 'music school' experience where I am practicing and honing multiple skills in many styles to further my goal of being able to play anything I want. Other online learning systems I have used either don't go deep enough or don't offer such a wide range of courses as I have found on Pickup Music.

Thanks to this pathway I am finally learning to understand the relationship between notes and fretboard, I learned pentatonics and some basic skills to use them.

I've tried a numerous online programs, but this is the one that has actually connected with me. It feels targeted at me - the person with some experience and theory knowledge, but struggling to grow and be musical. There's an excellent blend of video and written instruction and real thoughts on how to grow as a musician. There are a huge variety of courses, so it's highly likely you'll find something to dig in to.

The site is full of courses for everyone at any level and in different styles of music. The courses themselves are taught by excellent tutors in a structured but fun way with short videos helping you improve quickly. There's all the tabs, jamming tracks, play along tabs with the videos which you can loop, pause and change the speed which is very helpful. Apart from all that, one of the best features is that you can record yourself playing along with a band and send it in for feedback. All this at a very reasonable price makes this site stand out and great value!

I’m trying to learn guitar late in life and have found the Pickup music CAGED system to be one of the best ways to improve my playing online. As an early intermediate player, I seemed to hit a plateau a year or so ago with no real improvement in some time but in just a couple of weeks, I now feel that I am learning and improving again. Sam and Molly are both charismatic in front of the camera which adds to the experience. Highly recommended!

Very helpful at taking you step by step through through the process of learning. From rhythm to melody as well as new chords an techniques to help with your playing!

I'm an intermediate player who has admittedly plateaued, to the point at where I was just going to quit. Over the years I've been a member of many guitar sites, the main ones and lesser known ones, plus some niche specific, and they've all seemed to be missing something (namely, structure) - that is until I joined Pickup Music! I'd been seeing Pickups ads for some time and finally took the plunge for a two-week trial not long ago, and it all really clicked for me with this site. The instructors are amazing, and they keep it fun, yet challenging but not too challenging by moving you along in steps. It's clear to see they've taken what doesn't work in the other sites and creating a system and site that just plain rocks for learners at all levels. Thanks Sam and the team at Pickup Music, I'm very glad I found you!

I’m a newer student with Pickup Music, but have been going through the Blues and Late Beginner Learning Paths. So far, I feel both complement eachother well. The learning paths are well structured and the lessons are enjoyable. The practice pieces are great learning tools to teach whatever you may be working on (chord changes, rhythm, blues motifs/responses, etc) while being musical which make them a lot more fun to play along with and memorable. Looking forward to continuing the journey with Pickup and going through their other learning paths and masterclasses!
