Bad Business & Customer Service
On May 10 at 6:08pm, I made a reservation with Jill for a party of 12 for May 22 at 4pm. Jill advised reservations are normally made for parties of 10 or less, and my confirmation may say 10 but she has me reserved for a party of 12. Upon arriving at the restaurant, I advised the hostess of my name and party size. Jennifer, a manager at the restaurant immediately jumped in and advised reservations were not being made for parties over 10. I advised her of who I spoke with and she stated Jill was not a manager and she proceeded to call for another party to be seated. After waiting for someone to seat those of us who had already arrived, we were seated and 3 additional members of our party arrived which totaled 9 individuals. I asked the server, Holly if we could get an extra chair at the end of the table and she advised she would need to check with her manager. The manager, Jennifer, sent Holly back to the table 3 times to relay information regarding why they could not accommodate any additional guests instead of addressing the situation herself. We were told a chair could not be added for safety and COVID reasons and no more guests could be added. I advised there were 9 people seated and our reservation was for 12 and the manager should come to the table instead of involving the server. Jennifer could be seen rolling her eyes and pointing at our party along with the other young ladies at the front desk. She never came to the table, instead she passed us several times rolling her eyes and another gentlemen came to the table, but never introduced himself. He basically stood there and starred at us until I began to speak. He stated he was just going to wait until someone raised their hand to say they were the person to speak with, which is not a good way to communicate with guests. However, I explained our concerns and he counted the individuals seated and stated a chair could be added. At this point 3 of our guests left as they felt uncomfortable and decided not to eat at the restaurant. At no point did anyone apologize for the way were were treated or for the information I was given by Jill, except Holly. The so called managers did NOTHING to try and make the situation right. I am very displeased with our experience, especially after spending over $200 at this location and after having great experiences at PF Chang's in my area . This was bad business, poor customer service, and poor judgement on the managers who based on this experience should receive additional training. I will never eat at the Jacksonville location again!
