TLDR
TLDR: pw.com advertised an item, sent me a different item in its place without telling me, claimed that the item advertised on their website wasn't actually available in the first place, and then refused to comp me for my wasted time and effort. I went scouring the internet looking for a chew ring that my dog already has, but in a different color. The one he has is dark brown and blends into my dark carpet, making it a tripping hazard. PetsWarehouse was the only site I could find that had the ring in a very light beige color, which would have been perfect, so I ordered two. However, what arrived was two chew rings in the same dark brown color I already have. I contacted the company to ask why they sent a product different from the one I ordered (per their request, I also sent them pictures showing that the product number advertised on their site and the product number on my invoice matched) and they told me that the chew ring was only available in the dark brown color. I explained why I needed a different color and asked for a refund without having to send back the items (after all, they mislead me, sent me something I didn't order, and claimed that the beige color was *never* available-- so why would I waste more time sending the items back? To me, allowing me to keep the items seemed like a reasonable thing to ask after having just been duped with false advertising). However, the "customer satisfaction" rep that messaged me back told me that I would need to send back the items and, condescendingly, that they would need to be "inspected for condition" before I'd be given back the money that was wrongfully taken from me in the first place. Then, to top it all off, the person patronizingly tried to throw it in my face that I shouldn't want to keep them because I didn't want the brown color-- YES, EXACTLY. How convenient that it suddenly became important to petswarehouse.com that I should have the item I thought I was getting in the first place just as I'm calling them out for trying to pull a switcheroo on me. The rep made some kind of anemic offer to "waive the shipping," but left it absolutely unclear as to whether they meant they'd refund the shipping I'd already paid to have them ship me an item I never ordered, or that they'd waive the shipping for sending the dishonestly sold item back to them-- how generous, right? In either case, I've decided that continuing to engage with this fly-by-night operation is no longer worth my time, and I would advise that anyone reading this review make the same determination.
