Pet supermarket review
I am a beginner at fish keeping and during the quarantine I decided to buy myself a fish tank. I cycled it for 1.5 weeks and was ready to get fish. I really was excited to house guppies in a 20 gallon tank. I tested the water and it fit all parameters for safe keeping of guppies. After searching 2 very well known stores petco and pet smart none had guppies. So, we decided to go to pet supermarket. I ended up going home with 5 adult guppies and 4 babies, it was the last they had. I come home super excited and I allowed them 30 minutes in their bag to get used to the temperature of the tank(77 f) I released them and they were swimming around checking out their new home. By the next morning one was dead. I thought it does from shock which is common among adding new fish to a tank. Over the next 4 days I lost 4 fish all adults except for one baby. They died with no symptoms of disease. Yesterday I found one with white poop so I knew it was parasites, I rush to petco to go get a parasite remedy. So I have 3 babies and one adult Left which at least 2 are still infected. The fact that pet supermarket would sell infected fish to a beginner fish keeper is unreal. Very disappointed in my loss of fish and never going back there again. I’m 14.
