Peerspace has been a solid source of leads for our photo studio in Portland, and I want it to keep working well for both hosts and guests - which is why I see this as an opportunity to leave feedback. The platform's new zero-tolerance policy on off-platform communication is well-intentioned but too blunt in practice. I recently had a guest trying to book a short, late-night window for a wedding party. We both tried to share contact info through Peerspace's messaging to arrange a simple site visit, and both attempts got blocked. We ended up texting outside the platform just to schedule a walkthrough - but the booking and payment stayed on Peerspace the entire time, exactly as intended. The system currently can't tell the difference between a host trying to cut Peerspace out and a host just trying to schedule logistics for a booking that's staying on-platform. Part of the underlying issue is that listings don't have a way to price non-standard situations, like overtime or late-night minimums, so hosts and guests end up negotiating manually instead of just booking through the calendar. A universal host dashboard where all these features and pricing options could be toggled on or off based on what a specific booking needs would solve a lot of this at the root, instead of policing the workarounds it currently forces people into. Customer service is the other area that needs investment. I had a billing issue that took three days to resolve over an email thread - it got fixed, but it didn't feel like it was treated with much urgency. Peerspace is leaning heavily on AI-driven support, and especially for newer or younger hosts and guests still learning the platform, that creates more friction than it saves. Live agents, especially for anything time-sensitive like billing or a confused first-time user mid-booking, would go a long way. At the end of the day, we both make more money when this works well for hosts and guests alike. I'd rather solve this together than watch good bookings fall through the cracks.

Thank you for taking the time to share such thoughtful and detailed feedback. We really appreciate you highlighting both what’s working well and where you see opportunities for improvement. Your points around off-platform communication, more flexible pricing options, and access to live support are especially helpful, and we’ll be sure to share this feedback with the appropriate teams. We’re grateful to have hosts like you who want to help make Peerspace better for both hosts and guests!
