Peerspace took money from me and won't refund my money, even though I've already reported them to the Better Business Bureau. Would not recommend using peerspace.
Edit: Don't listen to the lies that Peerspace is telling as they respond to my review. They are full of it. They won't issue me a refund. They are liars and theives.

Hi Richard,
Thank you so much for leaving this review, we'd be happy to provide additional clarity.
Based on the cancellation policy selected by the host you were not eligible for a full refund. However, if your host agrees to it we'd be more than happy to get that processed for you.
When you created the booking you agreed to the hosts cancellation policy in addition to our Terms of Service. In this instance we would not be able to override the policy, and appreciate your understanding.

Proceed with Caution – Poor Support, Last-Minute Cancellation, and No Accountability
I booked a space through Peerspace for an engagement party and had one of the most stressful and disappointing experiences I’ve ever encountered with an event platform. After months of planning, the host canceled our booking just two days before our event — despite multiple confirmations and conversations in which we worked through her concerns. Notably, she told us she regretted accepting our booking because she hadn’t realized it fell on a holiday weekend. Even after we made major last-minute adjustments to accommodate parking limitations and reassured her about the guest count, she still chose to cancel less than 50 hours before our event.
We scrambled to find a replacement venue, which forced us to spend hundreds of dollars in additional, unplanned costs. When we reached out to Peerspace for support, the situation only got worse. They ultimately closed our claim, citing a 48-hour deadline to submit documentation—a deadline that is nowhere to be found in their official Cancellation and Refund Policy. I also explained that I hadn’t received timely email notifications of their responses due to technical issues with their messaging system, and I even provided proof. Still, they have only deflected my repeated requests to reopen the case, without addressing the validity of my concerns or acknowledging the lack of notice and communication failure. Adding to the frustration, I tried calling their listed phone number multiple times and only received error messages—there was no working number to reach a live person.
Most alarmingly, Peerspace has stated they cannot allow me to leave a review for this host (who is currently highly rated), because the booking was canceled. This means future clients could face the same issue with this host, completely unaware, and I have no way to publicly warn them through the platform itself.
As of now, Peerspace has offered no resolution, no reimbursement, and no real path to escalate the matter further. I am requesting that my case be reviewed by management, especially given that their support team is enforcing an internal 48-hour deadline that does not appear in any formal policy that users agree to.
As promised, I am updating my review with the new developments. Both the Peerspace chat and those who respond to third-party reviews have deflected responsibility, stating a timeline that does not appear in the consumer agreements. Additionally, they have ignored multiple requests for a number I can call to speak with a live agent.
I strongly advise future users to refrain from booking through Peerspace—if something goes wrong, you may be on your own. Note that if you don’t constantly return to check support messages (even when in the midst of scrambling to pivot an event location) they may say you didn’t respond in time to qualify for reimbursement.

Hi Christina,
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and share your experience with us. Your feedback is incredibly important, and we want you to know that it has been heard and taken seriously. We hope this message brings some clarity regarding your case.
First and foremost, we’re truly sorry for the inconvenience and frustration caused by your host’s cancellation. We understand how disruptive this must have been. Please rest assured that our Host Management team is taking the appropriate actions. Hosts are aware that cancellations may result in penalties, which can include revoked privileges or even removal from our platform.
Currently, our policy only permits reviews for completed stays, as we aim to ensure that feedback reflects the full booking experience. That said, we fully recognize your perspective, and we are actively reviewing this process to better serve our guests.
When a host cancels, our Customer Experience team steps in to assist with finding alternative accommodations and, where possible, pursuing reimbursement for losses. In order to move forward with such claims, we require relevant third-party documentation, including refund policies, service contracts, and any supporting materials.
In this case, our agent reached out on May 23, 2025, and explained that documentation would need to be submitted within 48 hours or the case would be dropped. As we did not receive a response within that timeframe, the losses claim was unfortunately closed in line with our process. When we did receive a response from you it was received on May 27, 2025. By using our platform, users agree to these procedures to ensure consistency and fairness for all parties.
We’re sorry this was your experience, and we truly appreciate your understanding.

CAUTIOUS, DO NOT USE
I had a horrible experience with using peer space, my wife and I booked a venue using peerspace for her baby shower, and ONE WEEK after we booked it, the venue cancelled on us after we had ordered everything and sent out invitations, it took us a VERY stressful few days to find a venue with less than a month to go, I DO NOT recommend relying on it.
Response from PeerspaceMay 7, 2025
Hi Abdul,
We're truly sorry to hear about your experience — that sounds incredibly frustrating, especially during such an important and meaningful time for your family. Please rest assured that we are addressing this situation directly with the host to ensure accountability. Your feedback is extremely valuable and helps us continue to improve the reliability of the platform. We hope everything still came together beautifully for the baby shower in the end.

I recently won an award for ‘best space…
I recently won an award for ‘best space in London’ and I was ecstatic, however it doesnt negate from the lack of support that they give hosts.
Im sad to write this review but having read the reviews of other hosts I can see this is a recurring problem.
I had a horrible client recently, I accidentally missed their call and ended up letting the client in 20mins late. I told the client that they can leave at 4:30pm, the left at 4:41pm. The client proceeded to leave abusive messages on peerspace platform when i requested compensation for them leaving late, i reported this to Peerspace - they did nothing. Ryan from Peerspace emailed me saying ‘weve decided to drop the £25 overtime charge’ yet I had to give the client a full refund and I received no compensation for the awful experience I had with the client.
The client left a negative review which is impacting my business, yet I do not have the option of replying or getting any voice to the situation.
This is not the first time I have had a terrible experience with Peerspace, yet they keep using my studio to promote their platform in their newsletters and hailing us as the 6th best space in London yet they fail to support us in our time of need.
I keep asking Peerspace why the client was given a full refund and they haven’t given me a answer. I’ve been robbed in daylight! There is nothing I can do to get my money back.
Lastly, the fees are incredibly high for the little assistance that they give. Hosts have to work extra hard to promote their space and Peer Space take a fee that doesn’t reflect in their customer service.
I have built up a strong profile on Peerspace and I’ll be staying to reclaim my money.

Hi Dorothy,
Thank you for sharing your experience — and congratulations again on being recognized as one of the top production spaces in London. We truly enjoy celebrating hosts through the Open Door Awards, and we're sorry to hear how this recent situation has affected you.
When a guest disputes an overtime charge, we require clear visual evidence that they remained in the space beyond the agreed time. In this case, what was provided did not meet the threshold needed to support the claim. We completely understand how frustrating this can be, and for any future cases, time-stamped photos or footage can help us better advocate on your behalf.
We also want to clarify that the guest was not issued a full refund — only a partial refund related to the overtime charge. The adjusted payout was sent to your account on April 27, 2025.
We understand how upsetting a negative review can be, especially when you feel your side hasn’t been fully heard. Since there’s an open support ticket regarding this case, we recommend continuing the conversation there so our team can assist you directly.
We also hear your concerns around the host service fee. This fee helps us maintain and improve the platform, including host support, marketing, and product development. That said, we recognize there's more we can do to support hosts, especially during difficult interactions with guests.
We truly value the effort you’ve put into making your space stand out — it’s why you were honored with the Open Door award. Your feedback is being heard and will continue to inform how we improve our platform and support.
Thank you again for being part of the Peerspace community.

Peerspace Ignores Host Safety – No Accountability for Rule-Breaking Guests
UPDATE after peerspace reply:
Peerspace has responded, but their reply is misleading and dismissive. They claim they “take reports seriously,” yet they ignored the overwhelming evidence I already provided. I submitted real-time chat logs, messages with Peerspace support (live chat during the incident when the host asked them to call the police as she was in danger) during the incident, witness accounts and contact numbers, screenshots of building neighbor's messages, and a lawyer’s letter from my building confirming the number of guests and the disturbance caused. We provided the police phone number for them to get a copy of the report as they requested. Peerspace has conveniently defined all claims 'arbitrary' in the face of a very critical situation, using that as an excuse to avoid accountability and take advantage of a user.
Their claim that fees must be pre-listed in a host’s description is another way to shift blame onto hosts while failing to enforce their own policies. Their own Terms of Service state that exceeding the agreed-upon number of attendees may result in additional charges—yet they refuse to uphold this.
ORIGINAL
As a Peerspace host, I expected the platform to protect hosts from abusive and rule-violating guests—but I was completely let down.
I had a terrifying experience where a guest brought nearly triple the allowed number of attendees, refused to leave, harassed me, blocked my own apartment door, and forced me to call the police. Fourteen officers had to intervene. My building was involved, fines were issued, and my reputation as a host was put at risk.
Peerspace’s response? Absolutely nothing.
• They refused to enforce their own policies—even though the overcapacity rule is clearly in their Terms of Service.
• They claimed “lack of proof” despite real-time chat logs, Peerspace support messages, witness statements, building security records, and a police report confirming the number of guests.
• They ignored documentation from my building’s lawyer, dismissing fines as “beyond their control.”
• They failed to ban the guest or take any safety measures, even after being informed of the threats and police involvement.
Peerspace claims to take host safety “very seriously”, but when it truly mattered, they were nowhere to be found. Their Trust & Safety team is a joke, and their policies are empty promises with no real enforcement.
🚨 If you’re a host, be warned: Peerspace will gladly take their commission but will do nothing to protect you when a guest violates your space, puts you at risk, or breaks the rules.
Response from PeerspaceMar 8, 2025
Hi Alice,
We’re very sorry that you had this experience; however, we would like to provide clarity regarding how Peerspace operates and our response to your reported incident.
When a guest initiates a booking on the Peerspace platform, they agree to the rules and rates set by the host whose space they are using. Any fees a host may assess to the guest, including charges for rule breaks, add-ons for optional amenities, and additional attendee costs, must be included in the host’s listing description at the time of the booking request. If a potential fee is not included in the host’s listing, then we are unable to pursue that additional charge with the guest. We can only collect new charges outside of a host’s publicly stated fees with the guest’s consent.
We can assure you that Peerspace has taken your report seriously and responded swiftly to your concerns. However, while you mention police and building security, we have still not received any official police reports or records from you. We have requested additional documentation multiple times via email in order for Peerspace to be able to review in pursuit of additional charges. We'd again ask that you please share these documents with us so we can further support.

Removing valid reviews after horrible booking
The provided code did not unlock the door. It appears that the deadbolt was mistakenly locked, preventing the automatic lock from functioning. I immediately called the contact number provided but received no response. After multiple calls and messages, I finally received a reply—one hour after my booking had already begun.
As a result, I had to cancel my scheduled class, which made me appear unprofessional to my customers.
Additionally, the listing does not clearly state that access requires either climbing four flights of stairs or using an uninviting freight elevator. The suite itself is difficult to locate, and the front door remains locked, forcing guests to navigate back down four flights of stairs to let others in and guide them through the building—an exhausting process.
Having booked through Peerspace many times, I decided to take a chance on a listing with no reviews. Unfortunately, I would not book this space again.
Peerspace then removed my valid review from the listing returning it back to 5 stars for future unsuspecting customers.
As shown below, they acknowledge that they removed the review. They claim that my experience—paying for the space, arriving, and being unable to access it due to a non-working code—is not a valid experience. However, if a host has a pattern of not showing up, customers have a right to be informed. Had I been aware of this issue, I would not have booked. This raises concerns about the review system, which appears to be designed to highlight positive feedback while suppressing negative experiences.
Response from PeerspaceFeb 17, 2025
Hi Kay, thank you so much for leaving this review and bringing this to our attention. We're so sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate the chance to clarify review submissions.
Our review system is designed to ensure that feedback reflects the full experience of a completed booking. Since you were unable to access the space, the review requirement was no longer applicable, as the booking was not completed.
We completely understand your perspective, and we always encourage users to review as much information as possible when searching for spaces that meet their needs. We'll also be sure to pass your feedback along to our Host Management department to help improve future experiences. We also recommend submitting inquiries to hosts before booking requests to communicate and confirm specifics. You can submit an inquiry by clicking on the, ''Message Host'' button on the listing page.
We truly appreciate your understanding of our policy, which helps keep reviews relevant to the actual experience.

BOOK WITH GIGSTER!!!
I’ve been here for 5 years and I never needed to cancel a reservation. There are wildfires in LA, which effect our shoot because there’s fire and smoke everywhere. Host was hard to work
With and did not refund us our $2,000 booking. We contacted peerspace 4 days before the scheduled shoot and told them we can’t go because of the wildfire and smoke all over the city. What’s the point of this shoot if smoke is everywhere? They left it to the host and host did not refund me!! I will not be using peerspace anymore.

Terrible interface, poor service
Terrible interface. Booking a studio is an absolute nightmare. It seems that hosts cannot accept shoot proposals, meaning that credit card payments are made but left oending so if you cancel the shoot proposal there is the danger that the payment will still go through. Beware, Peerspace is not registered with the FCA so credit card transactions might not be safe and this company could be trading illegally in the UK. Avoid!
Response from PeerspaceDec 9, 2024
Hi Robert, we’re really sorry to hear about your frustration and appreciate your concern.
Although Peerspace is not required be FCA-registered because it is not a financial services provider, we take security very seriously, and require all transactions to be processed through our secure payment processor partner, Stripe.
To clarify, when a guest submits a booking request, an authorization hold is placed on their card to ensure the funds are available. If the host accepts the booking, the card is charged. If the host doesn’t accept, the authorization hold is released. If there are issues with the hold, the request won’t be sent to the host, and no payment will be processed.
If you continue to experience any issues, please reach out to us directly through our support link: https://support.peerspace.com/hc/en-us/requests/new. We truly appreciate your feedback and hope to resolve any issues for you soon.
