Disappointing shipping experience despite nice product presentation
I really wanted this order to be a positive experience with Peak Force Labs, and there are some things they do well. The vials arrived intact, professionally labeled, and very nicely protected in a molded plastic tray and branded packaging. Unfortunately, the fulfillment and shipping experience was disappointing. I placed my order on September 3 at approximately 12:07 PM Central (1:07 PM Eastern), which was before Peak Force Labs’ advertised 2 PM ET cutoff for same-day dispatch. A shipping label was created that day, but UPS tracking showed the package was not dropped off at the UPS Access Point until September 4 and did not receive its UPS facility acceptance scan until September 5. The order ultimately arrived September 10. My bigger concern was the summer shipping conditions. The products arrived in a bubble mailer with no thermal insulation, cold pack, or temperature-control material. When I checked the package, the exterior of the mailer measured approximately 84°F, while a probe inserted inside the mailer measured approximately 97°F. I contacted Peak on September 8 asking whether the extended transit and potential heat exposure fell within validated stability/temperature-excursion parameters for this specific product. After receiving no response through the following business day, I sent a polite follow-up on September 10. Peak then responded and apologized for the delay. They stated that their products are shipped lyophilized and that they did not expect the shipping timeline to affect the product. I appreciate that they responded, but they did not provide the stability or temperature-excursion information I requested, nor did they explain why the order apparently missed the advertised same-day dispatch. To be clear, I am not claiming the product was damaged or degraded. I have no analytical evidence establishing that. My concern is with the fulfillment timeline, lack of thermal protection during summer shipping, and the lack of supporting stability information when I specifically asked for it. There are things I like about Peak Force Labs, particularly their vial presentation and physical protection, which makes this experience more disappointing. I hope they improve their shipping process and provide customers with clearer, evidence-based answers regarding temperature excursions. UPDATE: Peak Force Labs responded publicly to this review and acknowledged that my order was not dropped off until the following day despite being placed before their advertised cutoff. They accepted responsibility for missing that commitment and stated that they are reviewing their fulfillment procedures. They also clarified that their standard packaging intentionally does not include thermal insulation or cold packs because their products are shipped lyophilized. I appreciate Peak addressing the fulfillment issue directly and taking responsibility. My request for product-specific validated temperature-excursion/stability data remains unresolved, but I believe companies should receive credit when they acknowledge a problem and make an effort to improve it.
Response from Peakforce LabsSep 11, 2026
Charles, thank you for sharing your concerns. We sincerely apologize that your package was not dropped off until the following day, despite your order being placed before our advertised cutoff. We take full responsibility for missing that commitment and are reviewing our fulfillment procedures to prevent this from happening again. Our products are shipped in lyophilized form and are intended to withstand normal shipping times and conditions. For this reason, our standard packaging does not include thermal insulation or cold packs. Because our products are sold strictly for laboratory and research use only—not for human consumption or therapeutic, diagnostic, or clinical use—we do not make human-use stability or temperature-excursion representations. We recognize that our original response did not directly address all of your concerns, and we apologize for that as well. We appreciate your positive comments regarding our labeling and protective packaging, and we value your feedback as we continue improving our fulfillment process and customer communication. If you would like to discuss your concerns further, please feel free to call me tomorrow at our customer service number, 281-270-6625. James
