Got an adorable dog from their website
Got an adorable dog from their website, we were told about how well cared for their puppies were prior to arrival - the puppy arrived with notes from the breeder talking about the “premium” puppy food they were provided and a can of WalMart brand Ol’ Roy was included to feed our pup. (Seriously?) We were told that we needed to bring our dog to the vet within 72 hours or it would “void” health guarantees - we met this commitment and sent copies of the clinical note. In their health guarantee - they warrant that if the dog gets diagnosed with giardia, they pay for the first round of meds. After a few days, our dog began with diarrhea, it was erratic, but as it progressed, we brought a sample to our vet, who was curious if the diarrhea might have been related to dietary changes when we transitioned our puppy to ACTUAL quality food. Turns out, she had giardia, we reached out to Pawrade who promptly refused the claim and refused to pay for the meds saying we didn’t bring our dog to the vet and have this test run on 72 hours. (We weren’t told to have this test run) but did have her evaluated. Pawrade even sent a letter explaining why dogs would have a false negative test as a reason to support their refusal. All I can say is, at this point, we have zero confidence in the quality out in to puppy care before they come to us, and even less confidence in the assurances of their guarantees! We love our dog to death, but have less than zero confidence in Pawrade.

Hey Kaj, We are happy to hear that your pup arrived to you safely as promised. It is true that we require all pups to be taken for a wellness visit within 72 hours to be sure all is well as being rehomed can be very stressful for the pups. It is also to protect you as a new puppy parent. Any issue found within that 72 hours is on us and the breeder. Outside of that 72 hours and things such as Giardia could have occurred after you took possession making it more difficult to fairly assess responsibility. A fecal test is considered a regular part of a wellness exam. The Giardia would still be covered by the complimentary Metlife insurance that we provide. Not meeting the 72 hour requirement only voids the first 14 days of coverage, the remainder of the 3 years is still valid.
