Pawrade HORRIBLE experience- warning
I did send this to pawrade first to give them a chance to respond- I waited over a week and nothing- I want to warn people that they do use puppy mills- see my current experience below- - I purchased an English Bulldog puppy from your organization in February 2025, drawn to your promise of avoiding puppy mills. Unfortunately, my experience has led me to believe otherwise. I received Stella on February 14. The first red flag came when the breeder explained a scar on her body as being caused by her mother stepping on her—likely in a cramped kennel. Having owned English Bulldogs for years, I was alarmed by her behavior: she seemed to think the kennel was the only appropriate place to relieve herself. Despite waking every hour to train her, it took months to correct this. In addition the shot record I received was unorganized and incorrect- it was clear it had not come from a vet- my vet mentioned right then something was wrong- but I loved her so much I brushed it off. Two weeks after arrival, Stella developed cherry eye. While I understand this is common in the breed, her age made it concerning. I paid for the surgery myself. Soon after, we discovered she is deaf. Most recently, she has begun falling, walking abnormally, and experiencing seizures. We are scheduled to return to the vet next week to investigate these neurological symptoms. I’m praying it’s idiopathic epilepsy, but the signs may point to something more serious, like a tumor. This is an extraordinary amount of suffering for such a young puppy. I will be filing a formal claim, as I believe Stella came from a puppy mill despite your stated policies. I also plan to leave public reviews next week to share my experience, but wanted to give you the courtesy of hearing it directly first Edit- I seen their reply below- again- not upset by cherry eye- this is my fourth English bulldog- I have two licensed vets who also state she is a puppy mill dog. As for definitive diagnosis- could I get one- yes with an MRI- however, I put my dog first and to sedate her for an MRI- when the course of treatment would not change is ludicrous. That's the difference between me and your company- I don't do the wrong thing for a dog, and put her at more risk- r/t money only- Again- I'm just trying to warn others- DO NOT use this company if you care about animals-
Response from PawradeOct 14, 2025
We are sorry to hear that your pup has a health concern. As you mentioned "Cherry eye" is a very common and breed specific ailment for English Bulldogs. As clearly disclosed in the Reservation agreement, common breed specific issues are to be expected and not covered under the Health Guarantee. All of our breeder's are carefully vetted and have all the required inspections and licensing required by the USDA and/or their local regulating agencies. No "puppy mill" would ever meet our strict standards. It is also the industry standard for professional breeders to administer their own vaccines. Some vets don't like this as it takes money from their pockets. Our Health Guarantee manager has been working with the customer to resolve their second concern. At this time there is not a definitive diagnosis. The Health Guarantee manager also reminded the customer that two concurring diagnosis are required. We are still awaiting additional information from the customer so that we may process a claim for them.
