PASSPORTS - A Great Travel Partner
PASSPORTS really knows how to set up and execute a tour. For some of us it was our fifth tour with PASSPORTS and it was just great. Our group of ten were all adults. We toured Italy spending 3 nights in Rome, 3 nights in Florence, 2 nights in Bologna and 3 nights in Venice (Murano). We had two twenty year old young men, one older gentleman at 65: and the rest scattered in between. We were three couples and four bachelors, but we all stayed in double rooms. At our request and expense, PASSPORTS upgraded our hotels to make sure that we had good air conditioning, showers, elevators, a central location and a great breakfast too. PASSPORTS met that expectation. We liked some more than others but that goes without saying. Our favorite was La Gare Hotel Venezia on the island of Murano. Outstanding in every category: excellent front desk service, the rooms were modern and comfortable and the breakfast buffet was delicious, plentiful and efficient. PASSPORTS Operations staff planned our logistics perfectly. Our hotels were ready when we arrived, all transportation (transfers, buses, boats, and trains) were flawless, our admissions to museums along with local guides were on-time and interesting and all of our evening meals were waiting for us when we arrived at the restaurant. PASSPORTS Operations met our city schedule with ease. Our favorite restaurant was Ristorante Parlor in Bologna. We were served an antipasto platter with various cheeses & meats, bread & bread stick basket, Tagliatella Bolognese. chocolate lava cake and Amaretto or Limoncello as a after dinner cordial. Their table service was the best too. The restaurant itself was beautiful, elegant and very relaxed. Fabulous dining experience PASSPORTS couriers were top notch professionals, who worked tirelessly to fulfill our requests and time schedule, give us more options, and seek out great local restaurants for lunch and tea time. We had one courier for 10 days and one for 2 days because we took a 10 day cruise between our first day in Venice and our last two days in Venice. We found them both to be polite, personable, quick thinking, responsive to our needs and requests, possessing a great sense of humor, knowledgeable and resourceful. They found restaurants that served food that none of us ever had before, like horse meat and arancini (rice balls). Our tour required a lot of walking, mostly level or very gradual inclines. We monitored our daily walking excursions with an app, what else(?), and it totaled to about 60 miles. Yes we were foot weary and tired but didn't want to miss a thing. There is little doubt that we will use PASSPORTS next time too.
