We are sorry to hear that the Inogen experienced issues so early after receiving it and that you ended up in the hospital. Our goal is to make your life with oxygen easier and I want to assure you that despite the issues you experienced, we will do everything in our power to live up to that goal. I spoke to you this morning and it sounds like a possible cause of your low oxygen levels was a misunderstanding of Pulse vs Continuous-flow. As I explained on the phone, the settings on your Inogen, which is a pulse machine, are not a direct correlation to the LPM you need on your home oxygen concentrator, and you said you were using the same setting as the LPM you use at home, so it sounds like you may need to bump up the setting on your Inogen by 1 or 2 settings to get the proper amount of oxygen. The best way to determine what setting you need, is to use the portable machine with a pulse oximeter on your finger so you can measure your oxygen levels on different settings. I recommend performing this test in your home, so you have your home oxygen concentrator as a backup if you start to feel light-headed. Start by testing on a high setting like 4 or 5. Try to move around the house and exert yourself the way you would when you are out in the world. If your Oxygen levels remain high, then move down to a lower setting. Once you hit a setting that drops your oxygen levels below your comfort level, bump back up to the next highest setting and that is the setting you need on your pulse flow machine. As I let you know on the phone, if we determine the Inogen is malfunctioning during these troubleshooting steps, we will be happy to replace the machine for you under the manufacturer's warranty.
