I am 75 years old and struggled with significant Sleep Apnea, *both* Obstructive and Central Sleep Apnea. I struggled even more when trying to fall asleep with a quality CPAP machine. The noise from the CPAP repeatedly woke me and kept me from falling back to sleep again every night. Then I tried multiple sleep apnea mouthguards without significant results, even using KT tape (Kinesiology Tape) to successfully keep my mouth closed all night. Nothing helped. At my last 'sleep doctor' visit I was advised to try an Oxygen Concentrator all night, every night, to keep my Oxygen Saturation (O2Sats) near-normal in place of the intolerable CPAP and KT tape. We live in mountains at 5,420' elevation where oxygen is already a bit limited. Browser searches led to "The Oxygen Concentrator Store", and a recommendation to try the "OxyHome 5L Stationary Concentrator (PN: 1400-5100)". The agent was knowledgeable and very easy to work with, the price was reasonable compared to other sources (Medicare did not cover it for me), and the machine and supplies arrived within 3 business days. So... has it worked? YES!! Even though my doctor warned about stationary Oxygen Concentrator noise, but this one is quite acceptable - just a low hum. In the dark one night after putting a separately purchased pulse oximeter on my fingertip to monitor Oxygen Saturation (O2Sats) all night and then placing the nasal cannula, I forgot to actually turn on the concentrator. I woke for another reason at 04:00 and turned on the Oxygen Concentrator which sits about 2' from my bed. My wife did not awake when it started up and has never mentioned the modest hum. The good news: the pulse oximeter shows my O2Sats generally run between about 96% and 100% all night long when using the Oxygen Concentrator (except when I get up use the bathroom or to investigate a noise in the house). Our Sleep Number bed has sensors to detect (among other things) restful sleep, and restless sleep. Before buying the concentrator I was getting about 4 to 5.5 hours of restful sleep each night and taking daily naps. Using the concentrator for 11 nights so far, my restful sleep has increased to 7.5 hours - a very significant improvement, and trending to getting even better. My SnoreLab app records from my phone all night, and my fairly loud and consistent snoring has all but disappeared. So YES, The Oxygen Concentrator Store and this particular Stationary Oxygen Concentrator have made major improvements to my sleep and my days!! Highly recommended!!
