Mac mini was total trash from the start. Wouldn’t boot up, wouldn’t recognize mouse/keyboard, constantly started in safe mode WHEN it did actually turn on. HDMI port only worked 20% of the time. And, AND it had trouble connecting to WiFi. Needless to say I sent it back, HAD TO PAY SHIPPING and, they hit me for a “restocking” fee. So all in all I lost close to $200
Do yourself a favor and just buy a brand new item from Apple.

OWC chooses not to support small businesses running Windows OS – Unable to certify
OWC chooses not to support Windows certification workflows that directly impact small businesses running Windows OS. They have made a business decision to avoid providing a Windows-native drive certification tool, offering a “Bring-Your-Own-Drive Certification Service” (which could even be implemented through local business partnerships as a drop off service contract), or offering Windows-ready pre-certified drives from multiple vendors.
I purchased the ThunderBay FLEX 8 first, only to discover that it cannot be used with a PCIe add-in card on a Dell desktop because OWC DAS enclosures require a native Thunderbolt 3/4 port. I was never able to get a clear answer from OWC about whether the FLEX 8 is fully supported on Windows, especially since SoftRAID’s complete functionality is clearly designed around macOS.
After returning the FLEX 8, I accepted a small discount to “downgrade” to the ThunderBay 8. For the last four months, I have attempted to certify eight Seagate Exos X20 18TB drives using SoftRAID Premium on a Dell XPS 15 with a native Thunderbolt controller. Each certification attempt (a 4-day process) locked up the laptop halfway through day two, even with UPS protection, cooling, and an optimized environment.
Now the enclosure has failed completely — the drives no longer appear in SoftRAID at all, even when connected to a borrowed Mac (my screenshot to OWC Tier 2 Support showed SoftRAID reporting zero ThunderBay disks). I am forced to send the ThunderBay 8 back for RMA due to a backplane or logic board failure.
In hindsight, I should have paid extra for OWC’s pre-certified Toshiba drives, because Windows users who bring their own drives are left without a reliable path to certification. I now have $6,000 worth of high end Seagate drives sitting idle, and a $9,000 total investment that has been unusable for over six months. My photography business is still running off twenty 4TB external drives and a second set stored in a fireproof safe.
If this RMA does not resolve the issue and allow me to complete RAID-5 certification, I will have to reduce this to a one-star review. At this point, the delays and uncertainty are directly impacting my business, consuming valuable time without adding any value, and there is no guarantee that my photography workflow will ever work using the OWC line of DAS products.

The product I ordered has been waiting…
The product I ordered has been waiting for days to be shipped. On top of that situation when they finally did ship they sent it via usps, there it sat for days waiting to be accepted by the usps. In total it has been sitting in an idle state for 5 days. I will never do business with them again, as a matter of fact if I do finally get the product I am going to ship I back for a refund. Total incompetence.

MacDrive 12 is one of the best products for me in years!
I have been using Macs and Windows computers next to each other for over 23 years and always struggled with the cross-platform external storage, especially with encryption. So, I have been using NTFS, ExFat and HFS+, APFS with third-party encryption etc., expecially since the HDD/SSD-vendor encryption software (when provided) no longer natively support silicon macs and give issues as well due to this. Despite some stability issues and crashed drives in the long past with old versions of Macdrive, and the fact that I needed separate versions for HFS+ and APFS back then, I decided give the newest version another try now that it supports both file systems as well as APFS encryption. And it's really amazing: super stable, fast and provides a cross-platform hassle-free encryption with APFS. Two weeks is relatively short to be completely conclusive, but I have quite put i to the test and I am amazed by its performance. No disk erros, fast and reliable! Thank you OWC, you really made my day/week/year! The ordering process and payment was completely smooth as well

Completely killed my 3TB drive
Completely killed my 3TB drive. It no longer responds to anything, TestDisk doesn't see it and Windows reports it's a hardware failure. Thanks, totally glad I gave OWC a go, very fun. DO NOT USE MACDRIVE, it kills drives, for no reason. Also, terrible UI, no warnings, no info. DO NOT USE MACDRIVE. That's all, just don't do it, ruined my day.

Bought a raid drive and not only did…
Bought a raid drive and not only did they send an OLDER unit which they repacked in a newer box (I know this because it has older ports vs the newer usb-c ports which the package shows) - but the drive simply does not work at all and they refuse to do anything about it.

I purchased a very expensive…
I purchased a very expensive Thunderbolt docking system (MiniStack STX) 3 years ago and it blew out last week. Luckily my enclosed hard drives were still working after removing them. The company would not repair my unit even out of warranty and would rather that I dispose of it in the garbage. I even tried to get them to sell me the board so I could replace it myself and they refused. If they won't stand behind their product, I will no longer support such a company. They obviously manufacture JUNK!!!!
