Great Value and Quality
Michael and his team were of great assistance in my purchasing of an engagement ring for my fiancee. The diamond was absolutely beautiful and she hasn't stopped staring at it yet. My wife and I have been on several cruises and they all seem to have the same theme “push diamonds”. Diamonds this and diamonds that, here a diamond and there a diamond, everywhere diamonds, diamonds…e-i-e-i-e-i-o. Quite frankly I got tired of being insulted about “DUTY FREE” and the superior quality presented by DIAMONDS INTERNATIONAL and other cruise line business partners. And in 1997 I decided to get educated about the total cost of ownership of loose diamond stones and jewelry. After interviewing every jeweler in the Caribbean, I expanded my research to the internet. One of the websites I came across was McGivern Diamonds and I saw he was located in Perrysburg, OH, which is only a few miles from where I was born and raised. (ACRES OF DIAMONDS). It took me two minutes into my call and questions with Michael McGivern to realize that I have discovered the second most knowledgeable person in the world on buying diamonds (Of course, me being to the most knowledgeable). He knew exactly what we wanted in the 6 C’s and when we wanted it. He exceeded our expectations at a much lower price than St. Thomas, Barbados, San Juan, Cancun, etc.
Since that time I have become older, wiser and fatter and my ring finger has grown around my diamond wedding band like a 300 year old OAK tree grown around a hula hoop. After finally, removing the ring via near amputation I found my wife’s McGivern sales receipt (that woman keeps everything). When I called McGivern, I fully expected to hear he was no longer in business. And when he answered the phone on the first ring late Friday afternoon, chills ran down my chubby spine. I said Mike, we have a problem. Somehow my gold band has shrunk and I need it bigger. He said no problem and no charge. I’ll send it back as so as I get it. And he did. I swear he must have worked on Sunday to do this. All I can say is “long live the King of Diamonds, Michael McGivern”.
