Otter.aiReviews of otter.ai

Otter is a really straightforward site, and this made uploading my audio files and receiving my transcription very easy. I had to listen to 3x30min podcast episodes for an assignment and Otter.ai significantly cut down my planning, drafting and writing time. Have already recommended to friends and family. The Otter.ai business plan was very useful for me to record and transcribe interviews. I was initially drawn to the platform's security and affordability. The transcriptions were pretty accurate, and the search function, AI chat feature, and export capabilities were helpful. I highly recommend!

As said on the title, it does a good job at transcripting and summarizing meetings, but a word of caution before using this service. The transcript may also include quips from another person attributed to another person because the quip was made while a person was still speaking, and the AI combines the two as if the same person said it. So you might need to either manually remove the quip from the transcription or leave it be, since there's no way to split it. Also, meeting notes have a small tendency to be wildly inaccurate due to it not understanding the context that only the members of the meeting know about. All in all, Otter.ai is a great tool, but not a real replacement of someone taking notes during a meeting. Treat it as a corroborating witness to what was discussed in a meeting when writing down somewhere your meeting summaries. Disclosure: This review is my honest observations and experiences with the service. As well as, this review was provided as part of a promotion from Otter.ai.

I love the Otter A.I. tool! This has helped me phenomenally with classes and course work. As being someone with a unilateral hearing loss as well as ADHD I am able to take and highlight important notes in class. I used it to complete an interview assignment I had. I also use it when gaining feedback from tutors. The transcript part works pretty well although it does not always transcribe the correct word, some of that is understandable since abbreviations and specific slang is used. Thankfully you receive high quality audio with the transcript so you can decipher the words it was not able to catch. The app is simple to understand and extremely helpful in all aspects of my life. The only downside is that sitting at the front of the class is a must and you will not always get classmate responses depending on the size of the class. (I have not tried the app from the middle of the class since as I said before I have a hearing disability, but that may be a solution to receiving everyone's responses). You will need to make sure you have a good wifi or service connection so it can continue to record. I have had that issue in the past where the connection was finicky so I missed out on 30-40 min of the lecture, but most of the time it is still able to record/transcribe during a lack of connection. All in all I love the app and I wish it was around when I was in high school. I highly recommend this for anyone with hearing disability or just in general. This tool has become a necessity for my education and learning.

I find the note-taking tool to be very useful. The meeting scheduling (using my Google calendar), summarizing, listing key points and how easy it is to share meeting notes with others is top-notch. I can fully focus during meetings because I can always return to Otter to get key points from my meetings. And yes, this review was provided as part of a promotion from Otter. I haven't given 5 stars here simply because the AI still mixes up speakers sometimes but I know it will get better with advancements.

I am writing my life story and was in need of a voice to text solution to make this possible. I did a lot of research and testing of apps that offer these services. Otter ai kept coming up in the reviews as a powerful tool. I was attending a major event hosted by Tony Robbins and he mentioned that Otter had played a huge part in his projects. I went ahead and got Otter ai and have been very impressed with it's speed of translation and accuracy. I responded to a promotion from Otter to provide this testimonial but would have gladly done it otherwise.

Easy to use, very intuitive. I have been using Otter for two years now. Even on the free plan you get to utilize a lot of its amazing features. Recording to transcription, summaries and Google Calendar integration. If able - I would definitely encourage other businesses and workplaces to adopt for utilizing for meetings that require minute taking.

The site was recommended to me by a friend and I decided to give it a trial, I opened the site, created an account with my Gmail and synced with my google calendar. I missed a meeting that I registered for already because I was involved in another business entirely at the time the meeting was going on, to my greatest surprise I got a mail and I got the minutes of the meeting and a record of the meeting. Like, I cant even express how surprised and shocked I was. That was a real life saver. The experience has been awesome and great and I cant wait to learn more on what I can use Otter AI for. Its incredibly awesome
