Surprisingly poor transcription. Don't understand much of the text. I do a project in transportation and "City tracks" was translated as "CD tracks". "Vehicle" transcribed as "weekly" etc. The text doesn't make sense at all. Cut off sentences, parts missing, etc. Wasted a whole day on the tool.

Very upsetting experience. I used Otter to record an important meeting. The app was on all the time, I could see the live transcript till the last words and heard the "Recording stopped" notification from Zoom at the end. However, Otter only saved 37 minutes out of two hours. I contacted their support team, and one week later, there is still no response. The last straw was receiving an automated email asking to evaluate my experience with a link that simply leads you to the home page. What a huge letdown.

As many people say here, I got charged an annual fee instead of a monthly one. How? I have selected the monthly fee. Then put my card details. A message came up that the details were not correct. Re-entered my card details and made the purchase. Guess what? In the meantime, it has gone back to the annual subscription as a default and not the monthly box that I've ticked. That's straight fraud and the proof is that so maybe people are experiencing the same and Otter gives partial refunds if they bother to do so. I'm currently raising a dispute with my bank, and hope for the best.

I had to take notes because of the overwhelming number of issues. The worst BY FAR is that it auto-invited people in my meetings, and I had to apologize & explain to them the next day. Super embarrassing. •⁠ ⁠doesn’t auto-join google meet meetings. •⁠ ⁠⁠when in interface, it constantly re-confirms that “google account connected”, but that’s exactly what’s missing •⁠ ⁠⁠invited my whole team (all external email addresses!) without me opting-in, this was by far the most shocking •⁠ ⁠⁠I tried to purchase 1 license, and in the last step it changed it to 2 licenses without me opting-in, this was really really bad too •⁠ ⁠⁠generally buggy interface, keeps re-showing onboarding flow and re-showing info banners on top that I already clicked away •⁠ ⁠⁠chrome extension doesn’t currently work It's also the most expensive and in a short comparison of 3 transcription apps and 2 transcription AIs (whisper and Gemini pro 1.5 002) it was the worst out of all 5.

Edited to add: I have now received a partial refund ($111.53 of $141.87 CAD). I am not sure if that came from filing a dispute with my credit card or my review left here. A real lesson to ensure I am checking in with Trust Pilot reviews prior to any online purchases. They took an annual fee (which I couldn’t afford) instead of the monthly amount (that I selected), kept my money and refuse to give it back stating it is non-refundable. I don’t mind paying the month (as I was testing it out, and did use it one day. I wasn’t trying it get a freebie. However, taking an annual fee instead of the monthly is fraudulent.

Such a poor experience. I received an otter.ai summary of a meeting that I attended. Clicking the link to receive more details ABOUT THAT MEETING, forced me to create an account for me and accepting that otter get's access to my Office365 etc. Why??? Tried 1 hour different options, but gave it up in frustration. => Will not dare to let my customers do the same poor experience with my meeting minutes :(

Very disappointed with their customer service. I needed lots of minutes for video calls and my understating of the minutes applying only to recording outside minutes let me to need to drop the service. However, their customer service gave not consideration to my predicament. Zero flexibly once they have your money. Avoid at all costs

So slow, so so slow. Just the rate that the website pages reveal a transcript does not reflect the Pro price tag (which by the way is limited to 1.5 hrs of audio to text meaning you'll have to break the audio down into chunks OR pay even more for a more complete service)... really disappointing service and value for money
